Need a suggestion for photo software.

I need a suggestion for a program without a steep learning curve to position photos with descriptions on a page and print them. Other than short descriptions there's no text.

If you're just positioning a photo and adding text, I suggest MS Word ... or the freebie equivalent - Open Office
If you want more photo editing capability, try PhotoScape - free.
If you want a real challenge - Photoshop CS2 is now available for free. (Look down the page for D/L file and serial number.)

Microsoft Publisher works great for that. Easy to postion and size pictures and make text boxes wherever you want to put them.

Unless you are a real pro I would suggest one of the earlier version of Photoshop Elements.

I have seen them on ebay for at or below $30.

I like Photoshop Elements for what you are describing. You can get it for under $100 and can take care of almost any of your needs. I had been running Photoshop 7 for several years on an old computer but bought a new laptop and couldn’t believe how much they want for that so I bought Elements.

I also use Microsoft Publisher quite effectively as well.

Virtually every image on this website has been massaged in one way or another with both Photoshop and Elements.

I know. The "pros' laugh, but I used to work in the graphic arts field and it is a great program. I have published newsletters, made book covers, quickie web site graphics and even use it now to create stunning animation stills used in HD video projects. People are blown away when I tell them that I created a certain video special effect with Microsoft Publisher.

Adobe has put out a statement that the download and serial number are for current Photoshop CS2 licensees. (They're retiring the activation servers for that product and a number of other products.)

As a solution, Adobe then posted the PS CS2 free download and serial number.
First of all, just how many licensees needing a re-install could there have been?
And second, since Adobe is the source of the problem, why didn't they just make CS3 available to the individual CS2 users who needed to re-install?
