The fascination with cars preserved liked old farm implements has only grown in recent years with the rise of old car values at auctions. Here's the latest example: a 1964 Aston Martin DB5, similar to what James Bond drove in "Goldfinger," that had sat in a barn for 33 years. At a Bonham's auction to be held at Aston Martin's factory in May, the DB5 is expected to fetch about $300,000 — and that will be only the new owner's downpayment.

That really is a sexy car. I’m partial to the Auburn Boattail Speedster (completely different) and the Ford GT; but I drool over the XKE too.

I highly recommend you see the British 'Top Gear' program that commemorated the Jaguar E-type and showcased the modified E-type Speedster. An unbelievably awesome show and funny too..

Take some time to sit back and relax and WATCH THIS SHOW.. You will enjoy it, guaranteed: http://www.topgear.com/uk/videos/happy-birthday-etype-part-1-series-17-episode-1 Toggle to full screen and enjoy.. The Jaguar Speedster is insane!

I hope the oil was drained from it first. Also, its seals are going to be crap by now. The body looks great, but the engine will need a lot of TLC.

Even imagining it all shined up, I don’t think it’s a pretty car. But I’m probably not ‘seeing’ it as a man would.

I think it's one of the most gorgeous 60s cars (which is saying alot). But to each his/her own...

Naa, I ‘ain’t’ gonna trust you, lol. I don’t even like the shape of it, I’ll take the Jag that’s posted below it! I don’t even like the Mustang GT that Steve McQueen drove in Bullet.

Yes, that looks pretty from the front. In the picture above I don’t like the shape from the side, the slant of the back.

I'm glad they did a tasteful and subdued review in part 2.

I don't understand what you're saying. It sort of sounds like English but the words don't make any sense. ;^)

Makes sense to me, but I’m talking about “shape”. It may make sense to you if I just say I don’t like the ‘shape’ of either of those cars I mentioned “from the side”. Just me - and I can write it in pig-latin if it helps, lolol.

What a dream come true it would be to find a car like that in a barn.

British cars are really special. With a little bit of restoration, modernization, and maintenance, they are a pound for pound more fun and have more "character" than any other class of classic cars.
