Andre Cassagnes, the inventor of the Etch A Sketch that generations of children drew on, shook up and started over, has died in France, the toy's maker said.
Cassagnes died Jan. 16 in a Paris suburb at age 86, said the Ohio Art Co., based in Bryan in northwest Ohio. The cause wasn't disclosed Saturday.

I wonder if they’ll turn over his casket and shake it.

He just couldn’t take the loss by Mitt “Etch-a-Sketch” Romney.

His demise was probably accelerated fearing the loss of potential residual revenues gone after the November election.

How many people can say that their work made millions of children happy?
Without a sound or a light or a battery.
RIP, sir.

I agree entirely. A life well spent. All of us should be so lucky as to make this kind of contribution.

Mitt Romney is very sad about this.

Like millions of other kids, I had one. Best toy ever. In fact, I think I've still got it somewhere. Now if I could only draw diagonals on it ...
Thank you, Mr. Cassagnes.
