Freeper needs help restoring history list of sites visited

Posted on 02/04/2013 6:29:33 AM PST by quintr

Somehow my list of sites I've visited disappeared. Any suggestions on how I can get a list back?

TOPICS: Computers/Internet

You could give us a lot more information.

Then we wouldn’t have to guess at solutions.

Windows? Version? Mac? PC? Browser?

Help us help you.

Try Homeland Security. I’m sure they have a copy.

I have Windows. And yes, I revisited the sites I actually want in my history — like FR, Drudge, Breitbart, weather, whatreallyhappened -

Every morning I have to type in the web sites again.

Guess I should just be grateful that I have a computer that will let me do that, but it sure was convenient to have the history list so that I only had to “lazily” type in a couple of letters of the web site where I wanted to go.

Weird that it just spontaneously (it seemed) to go away — the history list.

Sadly, this is a candidate for Post of the Day. (Or Post of the Reich.)

Under internet options there is a box you can check that says something like ‘clear history when internet explorer closes.’ I’d look to see if that’s it.

You should add the sites to favorites.

Do you have your IP address and user name and password you can share?

If you get to a website you want, just drag it to the favorite bar and release. No need to type ever again. I have 38 listed on the bar. I have hundreds more in the favorite bookmarks tab. Things like FR, weather, Fox, Drudge, Ebay, Amazon, etc, are right there at the top to be clicked.

PS. It sounds like you have “Clear history on exit” checked on Internet options.

Thank you. That was it! Easy fix if you know what you’re doing. Guess I’m not as savvy as I thought I was. Thanks again.
