Skip to comments.Best movie of the year (for conservatives)...'Here comes the Boom'!

I rented "Here Comes the Boom" yesterday and have watched it 3 times so far. Great film, great message...a classic!
It is about everything Socialism is against.
I thought “Flight” was pretty darn good.
My sister’s also raving about Last Ounce of Courage. I need to get both soon.
Actually, the most blatant conservative movie of the past year was the animated movie for Batman called “Batman, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS”.
The 2nd best line in the movie?
REPORTER: “Do you think Batman should return?”
LIB: “I think Batman is a menace. He beats criminals without the permission of the police and he attacks these defenseless poor people in the rough neighborhoods”
REPORTER: ‘So, are you willing to live in those dangerous neighborhoods?”
LIB” Are YOU NUTS? Hell, no, it’s dangerous there.”
I like pie!
That said...heard it is great.
'Here come the Boom' is not in the same league as flight. It is light-hearted and infinitely less substantial...but it's message is powerful for adults and children alike.
And I'll just bet that is the most important thing you have said this week.;-)
Bless your heart...have some more pie.

We liked “Act of Valor”
Here Comes the Boom is a GREAT movie, I agree!
A friend of mine from Boston was an extra in it and he said the cast was so kind and personable, it was a joy to make.
Check out the comments at youtube...this film is a new-born classic.
Thx...spread the word!
I found it to be very entertaining also, cheesy (I like cheese), and fun. I didn’t see the conservative message myself, but I can see how it could be seen that way.
"Act of Valor" is excellent. I've watched it several times. Relieves some of what I call my patriotic depression.
Conservative in that it (the movie) is about individual effort...not the system, not the government, not the collective...the individual.
Just watched Act of Valor because of your recommendation ...
Thank you. Thank you.
The scene where the gunboats come was awesome.
You’re very welcome. Great movie.

Yes it rocked. We got it for my brother in law for Christmas. He and my sister loved it also.
No sex. Despite an astoundingly good looking Selma Hayek as a school nurse, the movie culminates with a mere kiss separated by the "cage" of the fight.
2) No homosexuality, not even slightly implied. This had to drive the Hollywood "community" nuts.
3) Kevin James's team starts every fight with . . . a prayer? In the name of Jesus???? Wow.
4) Music is held up, not as a force for radical social change, but as a means to uphold those things we traditionally cherish.
5) The sub plot of the immigrants seeking to become Americans weaves American civics throughout, and at the end, the immigrants all go nuts as they become AMERICAN citizens. Wonderful scene.
6) Kind of subtle, but despite the a-hole administrator, he stuck to his guns about the budget and allowed a free-market solution to appear. He didn't say, "we've got to go get a new levy," or "raise taxes."
I give it five stars. I also give "Flight" five stars.
I liked it a lot. Bas rutten was great too.
