300? Three hundred rats? That's nothing.

Google "Palisades rat house." A hundred times more rats.

Twin sisters, elderly. Wheeling home 50lb bags of dried dog food a couple times a week in a shopping cart. Went on for years. Local officials couldn't be bothered to do more than "monitor the situation."

They probably had to provide the dog food to protect themselves, like Pi and the tiger. Or else move to another state.
