Additional reading: The legal analysis in the URL below written by seasoned attorneys shows that Obama is a tyrant. The point made by the attorneys is too clear to be debatable.

I'm afraid that Roberts is correct that we now have a police state.

However, that doesn't change the fact that he's still an Israel-hating wack job.

Sadly, it seems me that people only oppose "the police state" when it's run by the other guy's political party.

A case in point: "anti-war" and "pro-civil liberty" liberals would never approve of Obama's drone strikes and targeted assassinations if they were done by Bush. They're amazingly quiet about it now.

Similarly, all too many "Constitutionalist" conservatives allowed the Patriot Act to be shoved down our throats because it was being peddled by a Republican administration.

In other words, it seems to be that for liberals, covert war and suspension of 4th and 5th amendment rights are fine as long as they're taking place under a Democratic President, while taxpayer funded financial sector bailouts and spying on US citizens is fine to conservatives as long as they're under a Republican's watch.

Nothing will change until people start putting principles ahead of party loyalty.

While I enjoyed this article, agree with it wholeheartedly as well as the comment by 'bicyclerepair', the title of the thread should have been;

None of the links referenced are live. Bad form, that.

Well...upon reflection...not wholeheartedly...but...with the main thrust of it at least.
