If some future death panel does a Soylent Green on me they can use this in the repertoire.

Another favourite Vangelis from the 1492 Conquest of Paradise soundtrack:

I'm not sure if I've heard that one. Will have to look it up. Is that an album or just a song?

You can't tell me you don't like the opening theme from Conquest of Paradise (see below). Love the music (for long, long time) and just recently found this video which is also very cool:

It is a double LP Called 666 that is about the Revelation.

I have worn out 3 copy’s over the years.
Some bits in it are unlistenable and other bits are timeless.

It is quite a bit more intense than what Vangelis went on to do in later life.

Okay, I’m gonna seem really stupid here...Aphrodite’s Child is a band, right? Now, Vangelis worked with another person too, didn’t he? Jon Anderson. I can’t remember if I liked any of that music or not.

Okay, I found it. I remember hearing this one—Jon Anderson/Vangelis pairing:

Yeah, I have that one.
I never cared for Jon Anderson, but that one was likely inspired by Roussos and his time in Egypt.

Aphrodite’s Child was Vangelis’s first commercial band.
circa 67~72

They became a great cult band, but Vangelis did not achieve major success until he started doing film soundtracks.

Chariots of Fire launched him to the bigtime.

Yeah, his voice isn’t really my cup of tea overall, but I like that Mr. Cairo one. Although, there may be some Yes songs that I like. I never would have remembered Anderson/Vangelis if you hadn’t mentioned his affiliation with Aphrodite’s Child. Cool! Thank you.

They were, and I am a huge Tangerine Dream fan, but I always liked Vangelis and TD better when they were edgy.

Jon’s voice sounds better with Yes, because he usually has Chris Squire singing backing vocals, their voices blend well together.

“Drama” is a very underrated album, without Jon, it’s a harder album than most Yes albums, and “Tempus Fugit” has maybe the greatest bass line ever.

I have shyed away from a lot of "international music" in the last decades.

I got lured in during those college years.

Here is a Rocker from France and Morocco that beats us up in 1975.

It was the synthesizer he used on many of his famous works. To this day, nothing else sounds the same, though many try.

COF and Bladerunner are the best examples of it. Pretty much every new synth comes with a built in version of his signature sounds from those...well, tries to ;)

And for a paltry $20,000 one of the few remaining alive can be yours!

And a couple grand in maintenance a year...and a really good synth tech on call....
