If some future death panel does a Soylent Green on me they can use this in the repertoire.
Yeah, I have that one.
I never cared for Jon Anderson, but that one was likely inspired by Roussos and his time in Egypt.
His soundtracks for The Bounty, Blade Runner were awesome!
Do you like Eric Wollo, or Jean Michael Jarre?
Aphrodites Child was Vangelis’s first commercial band.
circa 67~72
They became a great cult band, but Vangelis did not achieve major success until he started doing film soundtracks.
Chariots of Fire launched him to the bigtime.
Yeah, his voice isn’t really my cup of tea overall, but I like that Mr. Cairo one. Although, there may be some Yes songs that I like. I never would have remembered Anderson/Vangelis if you hadn’t mentioned his affiliation with Aphrodite’s Child. Cool! Thank you.
They were, and I am a huge Tangerine Dream fan, but I always liked Vangelis and TD better when they were edgy.
I saw Yes once, “in the round”
They were great, but Jon never was my cup of tea either.
Yes, that's a great one. I hope that music greets me in heaven if I make it. I need to put that on my homepage. Found a great live version a few months ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-I1x5Ic9Dw
Long live the Yamaha CS-80!
Very neat. :)
I LOVE music, but you'll have to tell me what that is. I'm a dope.
Jeff Beck and the Jan Hammer Group from back in the 70s was also a favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap04rbrKmVw
Yes!!! A good friend shared that with me a few months ago. I nearly died! Vangelis music and Bean! Two of my favourites. A strange, but great pairing.
Jon’s voice sounds better with Yes, because he usually has Chris Squire singing backing vocals, their voices blend well together.
Jan was way underrated.
I am not sure if Jon blends with anyone LOL
Squire was awesome on bass.
“Drama” is a very underrated album, without Jon, it’s a harder album than most Yes albums, and “Tempus Fugit” has maybe the greatest bass line ever.
Those were the formative years in my life. The days of “Dazed and Confused”. YES
I got lured in during those college years.
Here is a Rocker from France and Morocco that beats us up in 1975.
