Keep stacking folks, the pResident didn’t even touch the
“real state of the union”.
Gold and silver miners are on sale for a short while longer!

The market should tank, today. It usually does when The pResident opens his mouth...

I've been looking but not buying tech stocks with a pullback - LVLT, QCOM also CLF (materials) is at a near 52 week low but the chart looks horrendous. I'll be watching CLF for a comeback, if it turns I may take a flyer. Gold is shiny but steel is real.
I'm still looking for more of a drop in oil stocks. As much as we like gold and silver, oil is the real currency of the world. I really like EOG but APA is more in line with my quicker trade timelines. At $83.50, I'll buy some but it ain't there yet.

Stocks have had a strong run so far this year. The Dow is about 1% away from its record high set in October 2007. The S&P 500 has also had a solid run, coming within 4% of its record high, also set in October 2007.

Investors have focused on better-than-expected corporate earnings and signs the Federal Reserve will continue to support the economy, said Joseph Saluzzi, co-head of equity trading at Themis Trading.

But it’s unclear how much longer stocks can continue to rise, he added. “Eventually there will be a break, and it will be ugly.”

Gold silver down today. Anyone who wants a quickie painless way of ordering some as a gift or for oneself-— Checkout the APMEX store at ebay. http://www.ebay.com/gold-and-silver Only $5 shipping so nice for small quantities

At ebay you will be paying the APMEX “credit card” price but it still works out due to low shipping. At APMEX proper you can “lock in” via credit card while you send them payment via personal check. You save 3% if remitting via personal check, bank check or bank wire

Are you interested in the Canadian oil sands stocks? Owned Suncor (SU) a few years ago and remember that it did well.

Of course. I’m interested in anything that makes money. There’s the money/risk factor. Canada has been business friendly (when it wants to be) but the carbon tax crowd do their amount of whooping it up as well. I’ll check it out. Thanks.

This article says Chevron (CVX) holds a nonoperated interest in a Canadian oil sands project so you may already be invested in oil sands if you own this stock. Chevron oil sands

I have APA in two accounts. It has been pretty bad for awhile now, but I think it's about to move. If you look at the call open interest, I look at the big numbers to pin to. IMO, Feb expiration shows 85 as the resistance. I sold an 87.50 Feb call awhile back. It's way under 87.50, but it's still 35-40 cents 1 day before expiration. I can't believe it's not under a nickle today. Next month the open interest shows resistance at 87.50. I think it's about to move up. If I didn't already own so much, I would buy a March call spread, or at least sell a put short.

I also am looking at CLF, but I'm scared the economy is about to roll over again. After a 20% fall, it is getting where I might chance it anyway. I hate the div was cut. FCX is another one to look at if you like CLF. I had my FCX called away for 35 awhile back so I might sell some 34 puts short to see if it gets put back to me.

I don’t hold APA, I trade it. Price points change but if I can buy @$83.50 and sell close to $85, I’m happy. The only stocks I hold long term are cheap spec stocks.
