Before Ronald Reagan traveled the 16 blocks to the White House after his first inaugural address, the White House curator had, at the new presidents instruction, hung in the Cabinet room a portrait of Calvin Coolidge. The Great Communicator knew that Silent Cal could use words powerfully 15 of them made him a national figure because he was economical in their use, as in all things.

― Calvin Coolidge
Why he was great.
I love the fact that people complained about the food at the white house going downhill when Coolidge took office.
American institutions rest solely on good citizenship. They were created by people who had a background of self-government. New arrivals should be limited to our capacity to absorb them into the ranks of good citizenship. America must be kept American. For this purpose it is necessary to continue a policy of restricted immigration.
It would be well to make such immigration of a selective nature with some inspection at the source, and based either on a prior census or upon the record of naturalization. Either method would insure the admission of those with the largest capacity and best intention of becoming citizens. Those who do not want to be partakers of the American spirit ought not to settle in America.
Is it any wonder that President Ronald Reagan admired him? And I too admire Coolidge for his wisdom, especially on the existential threat America faces as we become less American both due to Obama's open borders policy and to unregulated immigration without the "inspection at the source" as advocated by President Coolidge.
If you are not a member of the Blaze Cripple or have Dish Network (which I do) might I suggest a free trail, it sounds like it's going to be great.
I ran across that Link I sent you and that we have been using, I found because Glenn used the "I want the people of America save for the Government and more for themselves" line on his Radio Show opener before Christmas.
It tickles me to hear Coolidge speak of the $7 billion in federal spending as an “Astounding sum”.
All tea partiers need to adopt the Calvin Coolidge principles and promote them widely.
That is in 1924 Dollars, in 2012 dollars is $93,985,847,95
Ubama can still out do him easily, just goes to show how both Progressive parties honestly don't give a damn about that nations money supply.
Oh What Fools these mortals be.
