After Ratzinger, Enough With the Old European Popes!
Daily Beast ^ | A.N. Wilson

Posted on 02/15/2013 1:35:27 PM PST by ExxonPatrolUs

He was supposed to be ‘God’s Rottweiler.’In Newsweek, A.N. Wilson looks at the paradox of Benedict XVI.

My wife exclaimed, when she heard of the pope’s surprise announcement to retire:“It’s bad enough having one old man thinking he’s infallible—now there’ll be two of them!” Our conversation went on to imagine the election of yet another octogenarian, who might well in turn resign before the demise of Benedict. Pretty soon, the Vatican could fill up with retired infallible old men, most of them Italian, allnodding in front of the daytime television in the geriatric wing, andall—all—infallible.

Do you realize how childish that post was?

You need professional help as well as prayers from your Christian brothers.

"However, I don’t really have a dog in this fight other Than my wishing Catholics well. "

Thanks, if I may venture a guess, it would be that someone from an Order will be chosen.

"After Ratzinger, Enough With the Old European Popes! "

Perhaps a young, hip, Kenyan/Indonesian/Hawaiian gangstuh from Chicago would bring about the desired change...the Pope of Hope!

Obummer is already the messiah, so he would not take a demotion and become pope.

The warm, stinky air rising from an open cesspit of anti-Catholic hate. A. N. Wilson is a mess of a man.

“In the late 1980s he publicly stated that he was an atheist and published a pamphlet ‘Against Religion’... For nearly 30 years he continued to be both a sceptic, and a prominent atheist.

“In April 2009 he published an article in the Daily Mail affirming his rediscovery of faith, and conversion to Christianity, attacking at the same time both academic and media atheists.”

This sounds like an unhappy man, who remains unhappy whether he believes in God or not, yet feels free to criticize others who believe in God or not.

I read his biography of C. S. Lewis and a few other things back when they came out, but I didn’t realize that he had become a Christian again—I gather in 2009.

He writes well, but he has long had a bug on the subject of religion.

Agreed. A conservative, dynamic Catholic pope who seeks to convert the growing masses of atheists and Muslims will revitalize the church - regardless of his nationality. A liberal, relaxed and lazy Pope will hurt the church - regardless of his nationality.

You’re right, maybe we should pray for all those innocent victims of pedophile priests kept in business by Ratzinger when he alone was in charge of letting them ‘ROME’ around the world unidentified as the pederasts they were.

“He’d make sure the new pope wasn’t queer as a 3 dollar Bill.”

Pope Benedict has been outspoken about not accepting homosexuality nor homosexual marriage. He is a defender of the Christian tradition and biblical Word of God regarding homosexuals.

“maybe we should pray for all those innocent victims of pedophile priests”

I would hope that we would pray for all victims of pedophiles...prists, pastors, and secular teachers, since the abuse percentages are the same across denominations and atheists.

“kept in business by Ratzinger when he alone was in charge of letting them ‘ROME’ around the world unidentified as the pederasts they were.”

This is absurd. Benedict has taken extraordinary measures to transfer some procedures into the Vatican due to errant Bishops’ practices, especially liberal American Bishops.

Sure, Ratzinger's the social director of the Pedophiles himself. Why did he halt all legal cases to delay them for dozens of years? Are you familiar with Father Flynn, the Elvis Impersonator from Ireland; a REAL Monster.

God will punish as He sees fit, I would not want to be prancing around in Benedict's silken dresses. Of course, Ratzinger can't leave the Vatican, so they'll bring him visitors? Would you send your six year old to visit him alone?

Italian Paper Says Cardinals Discovered Homosexual Network Within Vatican Catholic Culture ^ | 2/21/13 Posted on February 22, 2013 9:20:34 AM CST by marshmallow

The Vatican has refused to comment on Italian press reports that an internal report on the “Vatileaks” scandal might have influenced the decision by Pope Benedict XVI to resign.

The daily La Repubblica reported that in their report to the Pope, a commission of 3 cardinals investigating the leaked papal documents had found evidence of a homosexual network within the Vatican, and hinted at the possibility that some Vatican officials were subject to blackmail.

“There will be no comment, denials or confirmation of what has been written in an Italian newspaper,” Father Federico Lombardi, the director of the Vatican press office, told reporters during a February 21 briefing. However the papal spokesman urged reporters to be responsible in their handling of unsubstantiated rumors.

Father Lombardi said that the three cardinals had submitted their report privately to Pope Benedict, and it would be passed on to his successor. The three prelates who investigated the “Vatileaks” scandal and prepared a thorough report—Cardinals Julian Herranz, Jozef Tomko, and Salvatore De Giorgi—will not be giving interviews or divulging details regarding the contents of the report, he said. Cardinal Herranz, who chaired the commission, confirmed: “The Pope is the only person we have reported to on this question.”

5,000 Pedophiles in this USA database alone. Care to venture a worldwide guess? Why would Ratzinger halt all separate legal cases unless he personally investigated and authorized a settlement? After all he held the Office of Blah, Blah Pontificate Protector of the Faith. The former Grand Inquisitor of the Catholic Church was halting the entire legal process. If the financial settlements continued, the Church would become just as financially bankrupt as it now has become morally bankrupt.

Would you like me to post Ratzinger photo spread modeling ancient papal ermine capes, hats and dresses? Or, do you want to ignore the Papal OBVious?
