Medicaid Helps Hospitals Pay For Illegal Immigrants’ Care
Kaiser Health News ^ | 02/12/2013 | Phil Galewitz

Federal law generally bars illegal immigrants from being covered by Medicaid. But a little-known part of the state-federal health insurance program for the poor has long paid about $2 billion a year for emergency treatment for a group of patients who, according to hospitals, mostly comprise illegal immigrants.

The lion's share goes to reimburse hospitals for delivering babies for women who show up in their emergency rooms, according to interviews with hospital officials and studies.

Some groups say the services encourage people to cross the border for care, while advocates for immigrants say the funding is inadequate because it doesn't pay for prenatal care and other vital services.

Bipartisan immigration reform plan will cost trillions

Robert Rector, a senior research fellow with the Heritage Foundation, expects the bipartisan immigration reform proposal, which includes a path to citizenship, will end up costing taxpayers more overtime than the trillion-dollar calculations he testified to during debate over the 2007 immigration reform bill. “[The proposal] seems to be virtually identical to the 2007 bill and would be extremely costly to the U.S. taxpayers,” Rector told The Daily Caller in a Wednesday interview. “Granting amnesty or legal status to illegals will generate costs in Medicare and Social Security alone of $2.5 trillion above any taxes paid in.” According to Rector,...

These anchor babies are American citizens. They are entitled to Medicaid, food stamps, and other welfare assistance.

“Foreign invaders sure have a lot of incentive to break the laws to get here”

Indeed they do, from the cradle (squat and drop citizenship) to the grave.

Yea, and now they want us to provide prenatal care before they are born here instead of sending the mother back so they won’t be born here.

There are clinics in California where illegals can go to get FREE medical care. I discovered by accident when I went to the clinic director`s office to inquire on grant information which they may have that I could use in a related healthcare project. I suspected something was fishy because all the patients I saw there couldn`t speak any english, -I asked one of them where she was from, coz I speak spanish, and she said:”Guatelamala.”
I asked here what her health problem was. She replied, “dolor de stomago [stomach ache]” I asked her how the clinic was and she said in spanish, “I get it free.”
So I decided to send my lady friend from Asia,
a Chinese naturalized U.S. citizen, to the clinic the next day. She had comprehensive private health insurance which usually covered most everything. When she went to clinic, I accompanied her and we went to the reception area. When she asked to see a doctor, she was told,
‘Sorry we only give treatments to Mexicans and other Latinos.”

’ I kid you not. I reported it to the Cal State Health agency but they never did anything about it. It is still there in Fremont, California, wasting all your Fed tax dollars on illegals and turning away US citizens. This is why California is a communist govt sucking FED tax dollars to illegals there./. I know the clinic is federally funded because it is public info by law and the feds match all their grant requests.

The federally funded WIC program serves mostly ILLEGALS. They get free everything and then walk outside and get in their brand new vehicles. The politicians have turned our country into the cesspool of humanity.

If the US would only do one thing to stop illegal immigration, I would want them to turn off the magnet of freebies. Without this, we would have no problem.

We also get to pay their legal costs. Our courts are a mess because of unfettered immigration of criminals.

[snip]Yet more than HALF of all Federal prosecutions are of illegal aliens. In 2009, the U.S. Justice Department filed nearly 92,000 immigration-related criminal cases in the federal courts. The record-breaking trend accounted for more than half of all new federal prosecutions in the country, according to Justice Department data maintained at Syracuse University..”

How much does this cost us, how much does it cost to jail these criminals, how much is taken from honest citizens because of criminal illegal aliens (all are criminals, since they violate numerous laws—such as using phony and stolen ID’s, use our welfare programs, crowd our schools, over crowd hospital emergency rooms and take up about one third of the California prisons (that one alone is valued at $8 billion according to a Federal court).

They sure do...and after Amnesty, they’ll have all the more reason.
