Movie for a Sunday aftenoon: "Jubal" (1956)

Following in the tradition of "McClintock" a couple of weeks ago, today's feature is another Shakespearean Western. Leonard Maltin calls it "Othello On The Range" and it's an apt description. Ernest Borgnine plays the Othello character, Rod Steiger's Iago, Valerie French is Desdemona and Glenn Ford is the Cassio character. Also starring Charles Bronson and Felicia Farr(Mrs. Jack Lemmon).

Sidenote: I believe both Ford and Borgnine were Republicans.

You’re welcome. I generally try to post films that are conservative, pro-Western culture, pro-Christianity(or at least not agressively anti-Christian, anti-conservative and anti-Western civilization) made during the time period when the general cultural consensus was far more conservative than it is today. I also try to look for films featuring some of the more conservatime, pro-American actors(Glenn Ford, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Charlton Heston, Gary Cooper, etc.) These movies are the type I would see aired on local TV stations on Sunday afternoons as a kid.
