Poor Bill......Two books about assassinations, and both wrong....
Lincoln's primary conspirator was Sec. of War Stanton, because Lincoln wanted a merciful peace and Stanton wanted to make the South "Pay".....
And Alan Dulles was the primary conspirator in the JFK killing for an assortment of reasons, not the least of which was the Bay Of Pigs.....and the Cuban Missile Crisis, (which to this day no one has reported what really happened*)
I cannot tell you how disappointed I was with the reappearance of the Oswald did it nonsense, and failing to expose the Sec. Of War's key role in Lincoln's killing....
*The CIA and Mob were both very upset with both Castro and then JFK for not committing Air Cover for the Bay Of Pigs: air cover that was always a part of the plan...., so the CIA "produced" pictures of Missiles in Cuba, and by passed JFK and gave them right to the press, (NYT) saddling JFK with this horror 90 miles away.....
But JFK beat the CIA a second time by having Khrushchev "remove" missiles that didn't exist very publicly and again preventing a toppling of Castro.
They got even in Dallas

I have always contented that Lincoln was killed by the northern industrial complex and the the northern governors because he was not going to punish the south.

Don’t know about there not being any missiles in Cuba. My squadron was deployed with brand new from the factory Crusader jets. They came back with holes in them. I highly doubt that the pilots were shooting at each other.
Yes, I miss Bill the Cat and his hairballs, as well. Newspapers started collapsing when that comic strip went away. I think Michael Eisner was behind Bill's disappearance.
