Bruce Willis Hits Gun Control Laws With a Vengeance

In a recent interview promoting his upcoming movie "A Good Day to Die Hard," Willis said he's against the new gun control laws proposed by President Obama because he believes they could infringe on our Second Amendment rights.

"I think that you can't start to pick apart anything out of the Bill of Rights without thinking that it's all going to become undone," Willis told The Associated Press. "If you take one out or change one law, then why wouldn't they take all your rights away from you?"

Willis, whose films have grossed over $2 billion in North America, will reprise his most famous role as John McClane in the fifth installment of the Die Hard series hitting theaters February 14.

Guns are synonymous with McClane, who will no doubt be firing away at the bad guys in his fiction film. But, Willis says he doesn't believe there's a link between Hollywood entertainment and high-profile mass shootings like those last year in Connecticut and Colorado.

"No one commits a crime because they saw a film. There's nothing to support that," Willis said. "We're not making movies about people that have gone berserk, or gone nuts. Those kind of movies wouldn't last very long at all."

In wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the executive vice president of the NRA blamed gun violence on Hollywood. Those on the other side of the issue have also targeted violent movies and video games as a possible inspiration for violence.

But Willis, who expressed sadness for the tragedy in Newtown, said he's not sure how you legislate against insane acts.

"It's a difficult thing and I really feel bad for those families," he said.

One of the few real men in Hollywood. Glad to see that someone out there in Hollywood has some sense. I think I will go see his movie this week. I am sure it will be just as entertaining as his previous movies.

Smart move for Willis. Sylvester Stallone came out of the closet as a gun-grabber and his last movie flopped partly because he was no longer believable as a gun-toting tough guy.

Bruce Willis, on the other hand, would appear to be much more convincing as John McClane.

Haven’t been to a Hollywood movie or watched a network show in over twenty years...who cares what some singer thinks?

Can they think? Evidence suggests not.

Imagine what 10 million John McClains could do to the gun grabbers.

I know this is crazy talk, but does anyone consider it remotely possible that some problems just can't be solved by a bunch of politicians manipulating a centralized bureaucracy via legislation?

Bruce Willis and Gary senise are about the only two actors I’ll support by going to the theatres.
With this article, I’ll go see this movie again.
