A few weeks ago we were advised to disable or uninstall JAVA because of some malware. Is that problem now fixed? Do any Freepers have a suggestion for a trusted download site to reinstall JAVA?
Microsoft Security Essentials is still the best AV program and it is free.
It also caught the Java “Blackhole” Malware exploit and Deleted it.
I usually run FireFox 17 but also have IE 8, Google Chrome and Safari Browsers on my Windows XP SP3 Dell PC
I’m running a 2.00 Ghz Intel Duo Core CPU and 4GB of RAM, although WXP only recognizes 3.5GB of RAM, along with a 512MB video card.
I dislike W7 & WinVista as they are extremely bloated Operating Systems and even though WXP is over 10 years old it still does a good job.
I remember when W95 was first released. The minimum system requirements were a 486DX CPU and 8MB RAM
Thanks for the tip. It was a very easy and intuitive site to use. Some applications that were slow or inconsistent are now running at peak levels. Thanks!!
Ironically I just received a Java update notification while perusing FR. Took 3 minutes to download and install.
