Four 'blood-red' total lunar eclipses will fall on Passover and Sukkot in 2014 and 2015, the same back-to-back occurrences at the time of 1492, 1948 and 1967

by Bill Koenig

Pastor Mark Biltz of El Shaddai Ministries in Puyallup, Washington click here has been sharing with us some remarkable discoveries on the blood-red moon and Jewish feast connections in the past three months. He now has some new discoveries.

I have known Mark for four years and have spoken at his church twice in the Tacoma, Washington, area. He has been an avid student and teacher of the Jewish Feasts and their awe-inspiring connections to the Lord's earthly events.

Mark said he had found my blood-red moon work interesting and began looking into possible connection to past and future Jewish Feasts at which time he found very significant connections.

I have provided blood-red moon information, and information on the coming total solar eclipses of 2008, 2009 and 2010—which all fall on the 1st of Av.

Seven back-to-back, blood-red moons have fallen on the first day of Passover and Sukkot, with the eighth time coming in 2014 and 2015

Mark found that we have had blood-red moons on the first day of Passover and the first day of Sukkot on back-to-back years seven times since 1 A.D. Three of these occurrences were connected to 1492 (the final year of the Spanish Inquisition), 1948 (statehood for Israel and the War of Independence), and 1967 (the Six-Day War) — some of the most significant days in Jewish history.

The others were in 162/163 A.D., 795/796 A.D., 842/843 A.D. and 860/861 A.D. We don’t have any historical connections for these years at this time, but we do know of significant Jewish persecution during the eighth and ninth centuries.

I’m sure glad society has sufficiently advanced so as not to attribute any religious and/or superstitious significance to a rather unremarkable celestial phenomenon. Dang, my sarcasm key seems to be stuck.

“I’m sure glad society has sufficiently advanced...”

This was your moment of sarcasm, right?

I have read several times now about the blood red moons of 2012 and 2015.

If there are any pre-Tribulation believing Christians out there, please post me your theories on this.

There are many Christians and authors who speculate the rapture may be likely during Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur (although as feast of the trumpets, I believe Rosh Hashanah is more likely).

So, that could make the fall of 2013, 2014, 2015 times of speculation. Although, the rapture could come at any time, many believe that God would select a significant Jewish calendar day to come for His own.

Any thoughts?

The Bible says “blood on the moon” I’m holding out for a Chinese yuhangyuan to bleed out from a punctured space suit..

I have always believed that Jesus was born on a Jewish feast date, most like Feast of Trumpets.
The Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread and Feast of First Fruits are around the dates of Crucifixion, and Ressurection.
So it certainly will bear watching.

Funny how these eclipses always seem to happen when the full or new Moon is crossing the ecliptic.

Revelation 6:12 American King James version:

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, see, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Sounds like a solar eclipse to me. But I would think it would have to be visible from at least Israel to be considerable.

I think it more important to live a good life according to the Bible and hope when it comes you’re judged favorably.

So many people have believed it was the end when it wasn’t. There have been so many blood red moons and solar eclipses, (sun black as sackcloth). I think that is why Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour, he didn’t want us wasting time thinking too heavily on it, despairing, fearing. Best to live according to His Word and you will be on the ‘safe’ side of Armageddon.

If there are any pre-Tribulation believing Christians out there, please post me your theories on this.

I am a pre-Trib and I believe the Rapture will most likely take place on Rosh Hashanah. Let me give you two reasons.

In Col 2:16, 17 we are told that the new moon and the Feasts of the Lord are a shadow of things to come. Since Rosh Hashanah is the only Feast that falls on a new moon, it makes sense to pay particular attention to it. Next, because of the new moon, it may fall on the 29th or 30th day of the month, which kind of reminds me that "Of that day or hour no man knows".

Looking at the article, it seems like most of the blood-red moons fall on the 2 years following after the particular event. For example, the Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492, the blood-red moons were in 1493 and 1494. Only the 1967 war took place during the first of the 2 years. It makes you wonder, with blood-red moons coming up in 2014-2015, what is going to happen on Rosh Hashanah 2013? At the latest, what about Rosh Hashanah 2014?

One more thought. The Bible counts a generation as 70 years, doesn't it? And Jesus said that " this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place". A generation since the rebirth of the State of Israel would be 2018, so a Rapture during 2013 or 2014 would fit perfectly.

I hadn’t, but don’t see the Biblical relevance, unlike “the sun became black as sackcloth of hair”, which sounds to me like a description of a solar eclipse.

Looking to astronomy for plausible explanations of prophecy is reasonable when those prophecies contain reference to astronomical matters.

However, speculation regarding both a lunar eclipse and a solar eclipse as being responsible for the particular prophecy in question is just not physically possible, not simultaneously it isn't. Refer to the respective mechanics of lunar or solar eclipse for insight if that doesn't make sense.

Therefore, another sort of event must provide the explanation for the descriptions contained in that prophecy. Darkened sun and reddened moon can have several different terrestrial explanations, all of which are due to a large amount of particulate matter obscuring the sun and causing a color shift in the visible spectra from the moon. A large volcanic eruption, nuclear war, asteroid strike (which appears to have been described in other prophecy so that's the explanation I favor), even a very large forest fire could do it.

We're commanded to keep watch and so it's good to do so, but in seeking explanations it's best to not veer into speculation that could invite ridicule. There's certainly enough of that already without encouraging more of it.

Regarding these “blood moons” occurring and recurring on significant dates in Jewish history, it's very tempting to attach great significance to such a thing. But, has this been independently confirmed? Well-meaning students of prophecy can and often do get carried away.

I believe more like Passover and/or Purim time. The only thing that is sure is HE is coming for us! It is exciting and comforting as we await His coming.

Titus 2:13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Phil 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

1 Corinthians 1:7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

Ephesians 2:19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household,

Philippians 1:27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel.

The next "American" Full Moon (Red, White & Blue) will fall on Jan. 31, 2018

Hopefully not prophetically, U.S. observers from East to West will experience the total eclipse of the Moon as it sets...
