Rise and shine! Snowquester is coming. It’s sunny right now, expecting a high of 40. But tonight rain starts after 5, and we’re expecting 3-6 inches before Noon tomorrow.

That is a Snowquester as it doesn’t rise to the level of a Snowpacalypse

Don’t look now, but DHS Secretary Janet Incompetano’s pants ARE ON FIRE.

On the radio this morning they were playing this 911 call from a senior “independent living” facility where an old woman was dying and the lady on the phone would not give CPR because it was against the company policy. She was so cold and lackadaisical. The 911 operator is like “can you give the phone to a bystander?” and “Is there anyone there who can help save this woman’s life?”

“Not at this time” said the worker.

Based on what is underneath, your admonition is well-taken.

I know this: some wristwatch that lets me read the emails from my phone that is 2 feet away is not going to catch on and save the company.

They try to get you to sign papers to that effect when you admit your senior to a facility like that. It’s called a POLST. I haven’t signed it yet for my mom, and I’ve had a lot of pressure put on me to do so. POLST stands for Pysician’s Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment. I have been given dire warnings that CPR would seriously harm my mom because of her osteoporoseus(sp?) — that her ribs and spine would crack to pieces with any pressure.

The nurses at senior facilities usually are LVNs or Practicals — not RNs. There is certain treatment that they are not allowed to administer. I just cannot find it in my being to sign an order to give no treatment to my mom in case of emergency. I just won’t do it.

This one is an interesting bibolet in cartoon form:

....made me smile. I won't be smiling if the sequester ends up costing my husband his job. We are holding our breath.
