It’s doable. Not sustainable, but doable.

What is an ammo exchange? I ain’t gettin’ rid of any of mine, and I won’t let anyone use my reloads.

If you have “excess” ammo you could let other FreePs know and maybe “work a deal”. These times call for “thinking outside the “”box””.

Why ask ‘them’ to do something that they have given ‘us’ the tools to perform ourselves?

PING LISTS, continuing SERIES of THREADS.

As someone else said, ‘we’ are not clear on what you mean by ‘exchange’.

A little more “outside the box”- how about a set of fake exchanges to tie up whatever investigators and resources HS uses to track that sort of thing?

I buy ammo at Cheaper Than Dirt and Buds and find that it is ever so slightly loosening up.

I look at least once a day at each site to see what's available. If it's what I'm looking for and at the right price, I jump.

Both are quick shippers.

Last Thursday evening, I made a purchase at Buds and by noon Tuesday, it was on my front porch.

Glockstore.com is another matter. I placed an order 15 days ago and have not heard a peep out of them. Perhaps they are selling items that are not yet in stock.

Yeah, and we can talk in code to really keep them guessing!

LOL, 'zackly! I'm stockpiling ammo I don't even have guns for.

Check out Gunbot ammo tracker, everyone. There's lots of ammo out there. Gunbot doesn't track prices at every retailer in the world (in fact, I think their "best deal" prices are a tad high), but if you need it and it's a fairly common caliber, you can pretty much buy as much as you want.

As Larry the Cable Guy would say, that's funny right there.

I wonder, when will the following phrase be used?

If I had excess ammo, it would mean I had it on pallets... And I’m not there yet... ;-)

Joking aside, I do see where there could be a benefit here, like if you had a bunch of a caliber you didn’t shoot often, while needing some more of one you did (though finding the counter-party might be rare).

Zeigfried: “No, I won’t say it.”
Smart : “The countersign or no deal!”
Zeigfried,: “Okay, okay! Pussycat, pussycat, where have you been?”
Smart: “I’ve been to London to visit the Queen”.

This is a good accurate illustrated website describing and explaining the Colt Model 1860 .44 Army percussion ignition revolver

I had a well used (and put away wet) “over-buffed/polished” antique (with Civll War Serial Numbers) Colt 1860 Army revolver that was a Reb capture (I bought “well” from a well-known reputable antique firearms dealer in Atlanta GA) and I then tinkered with it, replaced a badly worn original (circa 1862) cylinder pin, tuned the action, and tightened up the frame-barrel to the orginal Colt design specifications.

I later also bought an accurately made modern aftermarket walnut stock and brass fitted clone/replica of the Colt 1860 detachable shoulder stock.

It was a classy and authentic display piece - but it had to go with some of my other nice revolvers and Derringers some years ago.

However times change - my private “Gun Lobby” here is neither sparse or dusty.

The orginal Colt Army .44 and Navy .36 Shoulder Stocks are rare and mucho expensive and all appear to made of Unobtainium - most that you might see in a museum or at a gun dealers are modern made replicas that have been “aged” by experts - Let the prospective buyer beware. If any Colt percussion revolver Shoulder Stock looks to be an authentic original - Someone is blowing apple cider in your ear while they pick your pocket.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_Army_Model_1860

The original 1860 Colt Army had about the same deadly knockdown power of a modern Colt 1911A .45acp semi automatic pistol.

One shot and you were instantly flat on your butt and not about to get up and/or return fire.

900fps and a large heavy bullet.

FYI - Obama and his well-guarded wealthy Marxist buddies intend to make these fine historic antique firearms illegal for you to purchase, use, or own.
