Singer Josh Groban left the set of Jenny McCarthy’s new TV talk show earlier this month after discovering that go-go dancers would be a part of the taping. The 31 year-old star, who just released his fifth album, was scheduled to make an appearance on the debut episode of McCarthy’s VH1 show, but walked out just a few minutes before taping began, saying it was too racy for his tastes.
“He did show up, [but] I think the go-go dancers [his team] took a look at and thought they were a little too sexy for their taste,” McCarthy told Access Hollywood Live.
According to the Christian Post, McCarthy brags that her show is modeled after Playboy After Dark, a show made by the pornographic magazine that shares its name. The Huffington Post said Groban decided to back out once he saw the questions McCarthy planned to ask him. McCarthy’s sister, celebrity beauty artist JoJo McCarthy, filled Groban’s guest slot at the last minute.
McCarthy’s ties to Playboy go way back: Before becoming a talk show host and actress, she worked as a model for the magazine. It isn’t clear why she would invite a singer known for his classical aesthetic and traditionally conservative fans to her show.
Groban was raised by Episcopalian parents and also has Jewish roots. He has made no public statement about his faith, but enjoys a sizable Christian audience. So far he hasn’t made any public statement about his decision to walk away from the McCarthy appearance.

Ok so he was on there but we don’t know if he actually said crude words. He could have just sang normally and beeped him giving people the impression that he is swearing when he was not. Also he was alone not among the others.
This is the first time I have heard of this video and I will not deny it that is FUNNY especially seeing the guy who played Peter Brady on the Brady Bunch. Reliving the episode where Peter voice was changing and had to sing in a recording studio with his siblings.
GOOD FOR HIM! I’m a ‘Grobanite’. He’s NOT gay- he’s dated Katy Perry and had a longtime relationship with January Jones. What he is is principled and has the guts to act according to his beliefs. BRAVO Josh!
I’m sure this is something his agent booked him for. I don’t know who Jenny McCarthy is and a lot of Christians who don’t operate in that sleazy world might not know what being on her show might involve.

I agree! Who knows why he left? It was probably more b/c of the questions she was going to ask were probably more personal than he wanted to respond to. I highly doubt he had misgivings about the dancers. After all he makes no apologies for going to Amsterdam, or smoking weed, or swearing like a trucker, or telling all of Amsterdam that he DOES have sultry sex, soooooo Mr. Groban is no “goodie goodie.” It was probably some question he didn’t want to answer. I’d love to know what that question was though.
