Guy Ritchie is the most likely contender to direct the next James Bond film, according to bookmakers William Hill.
It was announced this week that despite overwhelming success at the box office, Skyfall director Sam Mendes will not be returning to make the next film, the 24th in the series leading to widespread speculation about who should direct next.

Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holms movies were really Bond movies.
I’m a big Guy Ritchie and probably the biggest Bond nerd you’ll meet, but somehow, this cross-over doesn’t seem to fit. Yea, his Sherlock movies have often been compared, but there is just something not Bond about his overall style.
Completely out of left field, but here’s a crazy idea.
Before you slam it, keep in mind that his recent disasters were terrible stories...
M Night Shamalayan.
Timothy Dolan. Oh, wait... this is the worng silly speculation thread.
I thought Cardinal Timothy Dalton was kinda fun as Bond.
I wish Ritchie would finally do the promised sequel to RockNRolla.
Well Avatar: The Last Airbender is a really rich story that was terribly done. Check out the series on Netflix, you too will be amazed at the terrible conversion. I’m not sure who’s at fault with that one.
I guess Mel Brooks was right, when the line in “Spaceballs”, of the TV announcer talking about “Rocky ... 5000!”
Quantum of Solace, originally an anthology written by Fleming, was the last one for me. No more Real Villians. A corporatist taking water rights as a price to support a banana republic dictator.
The aura has tin.
Excellent choice would rather Danny Boyle but will settle on Guy..
What if it turns out that James Bond is really dead, and his spirit keeps possessing different people’s bodies? And he can hear people’s thoughts, which is the real reason why the bad guys always seem to tell him what they’re going to do? And he’ll keep taking people’s bodies until he meets a guy who’s as dorky as he is cool? And he can do all these unrealistic things because they’re all only in his mind.
J/K... but not about Shamalayan.
I thought Snatch and the prequel to it Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels were pretty good. The ending twists were great.
Loved those two flicks. Daniel Craig was awesome in Layercake.
If they bring back the silverbirch Aston Martin DB5 it will need a full boot engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, and wheel/tire upgrade
It has already been done on early resto-mod 67-72 Camaros, 60s Mustangs, and the black killer Pontiac Trans Am that NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace drove to embarrass the $500,000 Lambo Gallado on “Rednecks Vs Imports on the SPEED Channel
- and no more silly chase scenes with slow Mercedes 190 4-door sedans as in (300SL Gullwing anyone?) GOLDFINGER or or other mismatches like we saw with a tired 63 DB5 racing a new Ferrari 355GTi (shouda used an older MAGNUM PI Ferrari 308 GTS) in GOLDENEYE
From Guy Hamilton to Guy Ritchie... we’ve come full circle.
I’d be delighted to see Madonna’s ex at the directorial helm of the next Bond movie.
