Most readers are aware of the concepts of compounding interest & compounding growth rates; concepts fundamental to analysis of portfolio formation, economic growth & capital building. . . .
But that is only an illustration of a dynamic concept--the long term effect of a compounding trend, feeding upon itself--which is our subject. This is not about thrift, frugality, providence & positive investment. It is about the absolute antithesis of provident behavior; the consistent, even accelerating, trends that are dismantling the social infra-structure, which once enabled thrift, frugality, providence & constructive behavior, to build an ever better & more satisfying life for those Americans who embraced it.

Of course the McCain & Graham efforts, the past two days, sabotage those Conservatives in Washington, who are trying to wake others up. With "colleagues" like those, the good few in Congress really have their hands full.

As we accelerate towards moral, social & economic chaos, we need to understand the dynamics involved. The problems will never just go away. They flow from specific actions, attitudes & fallacies, all being deliberately promoted by compulsion driven fanatics--many in the highest levels of Academia &, increasingly, in the Obama Administration in Washington.
Failing to fight what is being promoted is tantamount to collective suicide.
