If you are going to keep doing this, why won’t you post the link directly to the video?

Why do you keep posting links to those crapware laden spy sites that put god knows what on visitors computers?

And don’t answer me via freepmail again.

Answer out here in the open where everyone can see.

Ah yes, one of those songs about itself. We need more of those, just as we need more posts here like the brilliant post you are now reading!

yes it is true, the song is self-referential

but check the use of rhythm and rhyme

the song, it saw its full potential

and with this the beatles made their dime

BTW, if you play the song backward you can hear pedantic messages.

Yes, it is better than Your Song, the other Your Song, I Write the Songs, and Fire and Rain, all of which have been a logical mystery to me.

The guy to the right of TP is Dhany Harrison, George’s son. The keyboard player is not Billy Preston.

We are changing the subject. Back to the topic. Actually, This Song, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, is Just an Old Fashioned Love Song For You Sung Blue.

I believe it's a Hammond B3 through a Leslie tone cabinet.

Well Prince didn’t ruin the song - he wasn’t half bad IMO - but given the company he was in he would’ve been well advised to tone down the theatrics.

OK, thanks. I just looked him up, and was initially unsuccessful due to the weird spelling of "Dhani Harrison" (pronounced "Danny").

I assumed it was his grandson or something because as it turns out this is an old video from 2004. I should have realized Harrison would have been inducted into the "whatever" hall of fame a long time ago, especially since he died in 2001.

So since this is a 9 year old video, I wonder how Prince is looking these days :). He's always looked young for his age, but it does explain why he didn't look as old as I expected in this video.

It was good, but it wasn't that good :P. Go to youtube and watch just about anything from the last 10 years by Joe Bonamassa, then get back to me. I realize this will probably start another subjective "who's the best guitarist ever" flame war like in those stupid "top 100 guitarists of all time" threads, but hey - I got my vote in early for Joe B. :).

Being that they are purely commercial ventures, these “Halls of Fame”, they like to “induct” the big significant people multiple times, and so, Harrison was inducted as a Beatle, and later (why later, I don’t know, but it certainly served the HoF hoopla better that way) as a solo artist, and will be inducted, if he hasn’t been yet, as a member of the Willburys.

Too bad he went off the deep end with the weird name change thing,

there is a story behind it and it is as simple as money. He became a "symbol" or "artist formerly known as Prince" in order to record, release and collect money on projects that he was in charge of. It was a way of getting out of his Sony contract because "Prince" owed them some albums..... but the "symbol" or the "artist formerly known as Prince" didn't owe them dick.

He's a strange dude but very savvy about his money, his music and who controls the master tapes/digital rights. We won't be seeing him in the bankruptcy court anytime soon. Apparently for a real short guy he's a bad a## basketball player also..hahhahahahaa,

click on this for funny story

LOL!! Thanks. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that. Should have guessed it would be something from Dave Chappelle. He had a running theme with Prince. Funny stuff.

If you have to ask who the best ever American guitarist is then you have never heard of Johnny Smith. His best recordings were in the 50’s, but here is a recording at a later age.
