I'll Start. I LOVED "Emergency", I loved(what young boy doesn't?) Fire Engines and Sirens.
It Takes A Thief
The Prisoner
Columbo
The Avengers
Classic Trek.
Even though gimmicky, it was a complete morality play in less than 30 minutes. For a 16 year old raised on Hoppy, Gene, Roy and Rex it was terrific.
I liked Combat, and The Twilight Zone, when I was allowed to watch it, as it was on late.
And Nurse Dixie.
I’ve been watching again the series “the rifleman” for the same reason. Pointed out to my wife today with all the references to “the good book” and other moral messages, it would not get off the ground as a new show.
On the old radio, loved “the lone ranger” as I would listen to it with my grand dad.
Hawaii Five-O (the original)
Original Star Trek
The Equalizer
The Bob Newhart Show
WKRP in Cincinnati
Seinfeld
Radio: The Lone Ranger.
I have satellite radio in my car, and there is one channel which has all the old radio shows I listened to as a kid.
I love listening to this channel. Sometimes, I arrive back home, and sit in the car to listen to the rest of a broadcast.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
The Beverly Hillbillies
The Addams Family
Twin Peaks
24
All In The Family
Firefly: A sci-fi space adventure western that had some of the best characters, best dialogue, and best conservative/libertarian messages ever on television.
There was an old TV series called “The Gray Ghost”. It was about John S. Mosby. I think it was only on a couple of seasons and always suspected it was canceled because it was about a Confederate Ranger.
I also really liked “Leave It To Beaver”.
The young man on Rifleman grew up to be a band leader for a group that plays 1940’s music in the West. What a strong moral compass depicted on that show.
Monty Python
The Benny Hill Show
Hogan’s Heroes
M*A*S*H (up until Trapper and Henry Blake left)
Black Sheep Squadron
I Love Lucy
Gunsmoke with William Conrad. We did not have TV until 1960 or 1961 so listened to it on the radio.
Lone Ranger
Sky King
Life is Worth Living (Bishop Sheen)
Can’t believe no one mentioned “Rockford Files” yet!
Good writing, interesting plots & characters, even humor ... in other words, all the things Hollywood is incapable of doing today
On radio? ‘The Shadow’ and ‘The Green Hornet’.
The Thin Man
Man From Uncle
It Takes A Thief
T.H.E. Cat
Honey West
Batman
Adams Family
Munsters
I Spy
Lone Ranger
Wild Wild West
