In your Dreams, NY, only in your Dreams.
Real B-B-Q comes from Texas, Tennessee, or the deep south.
New York City, no way!!!!!

“Syracuse, New York, an unlikely barbecue destination if ever there was one (Dinosaur Bar-B-Que).”
Go to the Dinosaur in Rochester. Best BBQ, period.

The difference is that our Governor is not trying to keep our BBQ servings under 16 oz.

NY has a bad habit of ripping things off from elsewhere. Same affliction as the Japanese before them and the Chinese today.
One might note, though, that not many are trying to do Mayor Bloomberg knockoffs.

"7. Less god, more beer. You're lucky if you can get a beer in some Texas barbecues, which are often located in dry counties. Many North Carolina barbecues don't sell beer for religious reasons. New Yorkers, unsurprisingly, don't let God interfere with their drinking" Figures. Even a lower-case g in the first sentence.

Probably written by a guy who’s never been out of NY. I don’t think that Texas has the best BBQ either, though. The fact that this guy compares NY to Texas just shows how little he knows.

Seriously, the world’s best barbecue is at 4 Rivers in Winter Park, Florida. They opened a few years ago in a restaurant that was a little too small for them, and the line would be down the street to get in. Cars parked all over the neighborhood, to the dismay of the neighbors. So they built a nice big place across the street. It did not fix the problem, though. The line of people waiting to get in still goes down the street. I have never seen anything like it.

I don't understand what the fuss is about. The headline reads "a" capital, not "the" capital. And competition of this sort in the food industry is good . . . everyone benefits.
Looking forward to my next visit to New York, where I will be able to sample nearly everything without traveling hundreds of miles in every direction.

Southern Illinois has the best BBQ. 17th Street Bar & Grill in Murphysboro for ribs, and Chuck’s in Herrin, or Larry’s in Christopher for sandwiches (order them hot with chow). Everything else is crap.
