Google, in another push to reduce and rationalize its sprawling lineup of Web apps, is closing a host of products
The only one people care about: Google Reader. (Seriously, will anyone miss the Google Voice App for BlackBerry?)
Google is shuttering Reader, a product which allows people to quickly skim and read news articles from websites, as of July 1.

I just read the notice a few minutes ago.
July is a long way away. I assume someone will come along and fill the void (if they haven’t already - Google’s was easy and convenient so I never looked anywhere else).
I haven’t used Google Reader, and but I really find the site Originalsignal.com useful. I can scan headlines fast and click through to what I want. There are a wide spread of categories. I know it’s not the same, but I like it.
How about FreeRepublic?
OMG - my husband is going to freak
He’s addicted to Google reader.
Nah, you guys don’t even let me post from Thinkprogress or Alternet . . . two of my favorite sites.
I nearly freaked when I logged into it this morning and saw the message about them closing down!
I don’t know, that seems like a lot of work and as a committed Leftist I’m kind of against hard work. ;P
Work is a 4 letter word - LoL!
I hope you are right. Google Reader is a good complement to FR for quickly scanning the news of the day.
