NEW BRIGHTON, Pa. — Police said a 10-year-old New Brighton boy called 911 after finding both his father and grandmother passed out after using heroin.

According to New Brighton police, the boy first called emergency officials when he found his father in the bathroom. Minutes later, police said, the boy called back to report that his grandmother was also unconscious.

“I was putting milk in his mouth and trying to keep him awake. All of a sudden, I couldn’t move,” said the grandmother, Ginger Foust.

Putting milk in his mouth to try to keep Dad awake?

If he was unconscious wouldn’t that make him drown?

Good lord.

This is why I’m harassing Rick Snyder about needing more than fiscal fix for Detroit (and all American cities) because you won’t fix this with streetlights and police.

I live in a different world.

I understand how people who are on drugs do stupid things, what I don’t understand is how anyone would even begin to use drugs.

When I watch shows like cops I often wonder how these people got to where they are today. Being poor is not a reason or an excuse. Many people start out life poor and manage to rise above it. There has to be something more.

There must be something within human nature that predisposes some individuals to this life style regardless of how destructive it is.

Since you asked.. Here’s the answer...when you first start doing any addictive drug(including alcohol) IT’S FUN.. It makes you feel good. Unfortunately, it takes more and more to get the same fun effect which you are constantly chasing, but never actually get. By that time your body is addicted to it. It’s painful not to have it. people do not like to feel pain... That’s the answer in a nutshell.

Personal responsibility & a desire to better ones self? However, with all the freebies they receive nowadays, there's really no reason to change, they're beholden to the govt. Which is EXACTLY what the govt wants.

Oh,man

Let me just go on the record by saying......if you have a neck tattoo that can't be covered up, you really don't have to wonder why you didn't get that job.

It may seem that way, but I don’t accept that as the reason.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I can respect that.

The answer is more complex, and paradoxically simple. It is the human soul which holds your answer, but realize first that it is the human spirit within the human soul which is under attack from spiritual forces. ... Put another way, I’ve never seen an alcoholic horse, or a cocaine driven dog; all except humans lack a spirit to discern good and evil thus they are not under spiritual attack.

This answer has a “feeling” of truth.

May not be the only answer to why humans self destruct but it is a good one until something better comes along.
