My dear you can quote James to protestants all day but all they read is those verse in Ephesians or Romans. Why do you think Martin Luther wanted so badly to toss the book of James into the fire?

Luther also did not accept 7 verses from the Old Testament: Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Ecclesiaticus, Baruch, Ester, and part of the Book of Daniel. He also wanted to delete James, Hebrews, Jude and Revelations. Why? Because he took it upon himself to determine that these books were not inspired. Funny that from the Dead Sea Scrolls we know that many Jews accepted these studied and read these verses. Jerome himself questioned some of these books, and asked the pope at that time, Damasus, what he thought. Damasus querried the pastors of churches and they came back with an answer of “yes”, these books should be included in any canonization.
