Anyone from the Class of '83 remember Obama?
Israel Matzav blog ^ | Sunday, March 17, 2013 | "Carl in Jerusalem"

Posted on 03/16/2013 8:05:51 PM PDT by jjotto

I graduated from Bir Zeit on the Hudson [Columbia University] a little too early to remember Barry Soetoro a/k/a Barack Hussein Obama. But isn't it more than a little curious that not a single one of the 25 members of the Columbia College Class of 1983 - allegedly Obama's class - who lives in Israel remembers him?

What are Obama's classmates in Israel up to? Quite a few, like him, went straight to law school after finishing their undergraduate degrees. One is a doctor, several are engineers, and a few hold top jobs in finance. There's an architect in the group, a tour guide, a librarian, a speech pathologist, an occupational therapist and a journalist. Most are married with children (about three on average ), a few are already grandparents, while others, who came to parenting relatively late in life, are still chasing around toddlers. Among the group are also two married couples who began dating while in college.

They're scattered around the country, but Beit Shemesh and Ra'anana seem to be their preferred locales. Four live in Jerusalem and its outskirts, three in Tel Aviv, two are up north in Kfar Vradim, and two live over the Green Line in the settlement of Ginot Shomron.

But here's the thing: Not one of us remembers Barack Obama - who transferred to Columbia after his sophomore year at Occidental College in California - from our undergrad years, nor do we know anyone else who does.

"If he wasn't on my radar, he wasn't on anyone's radar," asserts Jamie Miller, a mother of five, who lives in Beit Shemesh and remains active in the alumni association, traveling back to New York every five years to attend reunions.

"I was a cheerleader, so I knew all the jocks," says Miller, who went to law school after college and today works as a librarian and English teacher. "I was in the marching band, I worked on the yearbook, and I was involved in student government, so I knew everyone. But I never saw him around."

Sarah Graber Nehrer, a speech pathologist who moved with her family from the United States to Rehovot last summer, says she became curious about Obama even before his first presidential run. "When he first came on the political scene, back when he was running for the Senate, I was living in Illinois, and I was like, 'Wait, this guy went to school with me,'" she explains. "But I had no recollection of him whatsoever, and neither did anyone else I know, which I found very strange."

Compared with other American universities, Columbia, a member of the prestigious Ivy League, is small. Its graduating class in 1983 - including Columbia College for men, Barnard College for women and the College of Engineering - had fewer than 2,000 students. And since the campus itself, located in the uptown Manhattan neighborhood of Morningside Heights, is also quite small, the opportunities to bump into your classmates and get to know faces over a period of four years were abundant.

...

Yet another classmate, Michael Teplow, notes that someone with presidential aspirations "wouldn't be shy, but in fact, quite gregarious," which is why he, too, was surprised to discover "when I first started flipping through my yearbook looking for his picture that he wasn't there, and I didn't remember him at all." Like Obama, Teplow went onto law school after he graduated Columbia. Today he lives in the settlement of Ginot Shomron, from which he travels each weekday to his law firm in Tel Aviv. Most of his practice is in corporate law, but Teplow has also built up a pro-bono side practice over the years representing Palestinians who have served as informers for Israel's security forces.

Another Tel Aviv corporate lawyer in the group is Norman Menachem Feder, a senior partner in Caspi & Co., who once clerked for the late Supreme Court Justice Menachem Elon. "I spent most of my time at Columbia either in the library or in the gym practicing for fencing, so if Obama wasn't hanging out in those places, I wouldn't have seen him," he notes.

Teddy Weinberger moved to Israel 15 years ago with his wife and former classmate Sarah Jane Ross, who works in institutional sales at Excellence Nessuah investment house. From their home in Givat Ze'ev, in the West Bank just north of Jerusalem, where the couple live with their five children, Weinberger continues to maintain close ties with many of his old college buddies, and says he understands why Obama may not have been on any of their radar. "He was a transfer student living off campus and that made it possible for him to keep such a low profile."

What might be a fair comparison is to ask how many of them knew another famous Columbian from that era - George Stephanopoulos - who was a class ahead of them.

You don't think Barry lied about going to Columbia, do you?

Why would someone waste their time looking at snopes fiction?

This story originated as a puff piece in Israel (’Jewish geography’) and yielded surprising results to its author.

Leftist site snopes is of course going to cover for O. Snopes cites only a bare minimum of evidence, unlike the hundreds of friends and classmates and documents revealed surrounding Romney or Bush II.

I have no doubt that O was in NYC those two years. The question is whether he attended classes and fulfilled requirements or whether a wealthy donor traded contributions to the the school for a completely unearned degree for someone being groomed for bigger things. Affirmative action, as it were.

Aww geez, the guy is creepy enough that we don’t need to avoid documented facts about him. Last time I checked, law school took a bit more time than the average academic endeavor. That said, Obama was also involved with The Harvard Crimson, their student newspaper. Here’s exhibit two:

http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2012/10/15/early-crimson-coverage-obama/

OK, so it’s creeping me out being put in the position of even kind of defending the guy, so let me be clear, I think he’s a fraud and a phony who made it through ivy league schools withe very questionable and dubious financiers shepherding him through all pitfalls for him. He’s the embodiment of Affirmative Action.

Looks like about everywhere he taught, he up and quit over the college not hiring who he wanted. Why would he deprive a school of a minority prof by quitting if he wanted so badly that they hire more? That makes no sense. And to do it more than once? That’s more in line of running away. No, something else was going on other than diversity.

Harvard
1980 - Univ of Oregon
‘85 - Stanford
‘86 - Harvard
‘91 - NYU
‘93 - Harvard finally gets fed up with him and ends his tenure

Then he writes a story about whites selling black slaves to aliens...

I looked at the second article you linked to (Daily Mail). There is a picture of Obama and his Australian girlfriend. The photo definitely looks photoshopped. Look at the size of Obama’s head in proportion to the rest of the body.

Young just happened to be murdered on December 23, 2007, just weeks after Larry Bland, another gay member of the church, just happened to be murdered, and both murders just happened to have never been solved.

The other gay member was Nathan Spencer.

And Barry, Moo, Bill, Bernardine, Kahlid, Louis, Tony and a couple other characters just happened to be Chicago neighbors. And it just happened that Barry and Bill (aka some guy in the neighborhood whom Barry claims he barely knew existed) cooked up the run for president at Bill's kitchen table.

And when Barry was a mere junior Senator, he just happened to get the second largest kickback from the FannyMac lobby.

And in an update, Brennan just happened to be named CIA Director.

This "no one knew Obama at Columbia" meme now coming from Israel is already very familiar: Columbia '83 alum and radio talk show host Wayne Allyn Root - who shared Obama's alleged major of political science - wrote and commented about it numerous times over the past several years.

There is some evidence of BHO being in NYC around that time, but none, with the possible exception of an article supposedly written by him in a campus newspaper on disarmament, placing him on campus as a full-time student. Furthermore, Obama would probably be hard to forget by anyone who knew him on campus because he would have been a relatively rare black student and had an exotic Arabic-derived name.

The conclusion of the posted article says it all: "You don't think Barry lied about going to Columbia, do you?"

It's amazing that he hasn't been suicided, disappeared, randomly shot through the head while sitting in a car in front of his church, poisoned with arsenic, or the rare heart attack victim with a bright red face.

Yes, but Ayers's classes weren't Columbia classes. Ayers taught at some nearby little Teachers' college, not at Columbia.

There’s a Columbia agricultural university. Sometimes people who went there try to pass themselves off as Columbia grads. Then of course there’s Colombia, which might have a university.

“...“he” is wearing the same jacket.”

Ooh, good catch.

Something I’ve noticed about most of his group photos from high school and forward in time, is that he is always in the middle. That is statistically impossible. The only exceptions have been when he was very young and in grade school.

Who’s to say he wrote the article? He didn’t write his biography and then there’s his, “you didn’t build that” quote.

All of us litle nobodies without exotic names have people who remember us from college. If not, we did manaage to end up in the yearbook somewhere, if not with an individual picture then in a club or activity or some other random picture. We can be found listed in event, membership and commencement programs. So, where’s Mr. Won-derful? Many colleges back during that time would send a notice to your hometown newspaper that you made the Dean’s List, won a scholarhip or was elected an officer of some academic society. So, Honolulu Star and Advertiser, where are all the “local boy does good” articles? Even if his classmates had to play Six Degrees to Barry, they’d be coming out of the woodwork to claim they knew him when but it’s basically crickets.

If you take a close look at some of the garbage preached by the so-called civil-rights leaders...you’ll find a common crazy link, the ‘mother-ship’ of the NOI, the scam based on wealth creation by Marcus Garvey, the veneration of the leader of The Moorish church...Bell seems to fit the pattern, only he ‘preaches’ it from the hallowed halls of Harvard, and writes science fiction:

FROM YOUR LINK: “Bell also wrote science fiction short stories, including “The Space Traders”, a story in which white Americans trade black Americans to space aliens in order to pay off the national debt and receive advanced technology. The story was adapted for television in 1994 by director Reginald Hudlin and writer Trey Ellis. It aired on HBO as the leading segment of a three-part anthology entitled Cosmic Slop, which focused on minority-centric Science Fiction.[20]

And then there’s that most famous man of them all, who established the NAACP. W.E.B. Du Bois. Another Harvard alumni. He wrote in glowing terms about Stalin and visited with Mao Tze Tung in China.

Some very odd folks come out of Harvard...

Moorish Science Temple of America

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moorish_Science_Temple_of_America

The community was further split when Wallace Fard Muhammad, known within the temple as David Ford El,[31] also claimed (or was taken by some) to be the reincarnation of Drew Ali.[32] When his leadership was rejected, Ford-El broke away from the Moorish Science Temple. He moved to Detroit, where he formed his own group, an organization that would become the Nation of Islam,[33] although the Nation of Islam denies any historical connection with the Moorish Science Temple.[34]

And thus follows the creation of the legend surrounding Malcom Little as a civil-rights advocate, the man whom TIME MAGAZINE described in 1965 as the greatest threat to race relations in the US.

Races: Death and Transfiguration
Friday, Mar. 05, 1965

Malcolm X had been a pimp, a cocaine addict and a thief. He was an unashamed demagogue. His gospel was hatred: “Your little babies will get polio!” he cried to the “white devils.” His creed was violence: “If ballots won’t work, bullets will.”

Yet even before his bullet-ripped body went to its grave, Malcolm X was being sanctified. Negro leaders called him “brilliant,” said he had recently “moderated” his views, blamed his assassination on “the white power structure” or, in the case of Martin Luther King, on a “society sick enough to express dissent with murder.” Malcolm’s death, they agreed,...
