The right to own weapons in America is under ever-increasing scrutiny and pressure, with constant demands for a blockade against such an antiquated notion.

The only reason Canada is still not part of the British Empire is England could not afford them.
The writer is an American, and the article is not to be judged by the excerpt.
Great piece. I like the CFP site a lot.
Yup. On the daily check list. Some good stuff.
Found a very interesting comment at CFP:

In Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11, we find that the Constitution of The United States grants to The Congress the Power To declare war, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water.
What are "Letters of Marque and Reprisal?" From the Free legal dictionary we get the following definition:
"LETTER OF MARQUE AND REPRISAL, War. A commission granted by the government to a private individual, to take the property of a foreign state, or of the citizens or subjects of such state, as a reparation for an injury committed by such state, its citizens or subjects."Which begs the question: How can congress authorize letters of Marque and Reprisal if the there is no privateer with sufficient arms to take the property of a state or its citizens or subject? Clearly the writers believed that the people should be armed to a greater degree than any government forces. Their distrust and justified fear of standing armies was well known.
It is apparent that today the people are under assault by a tyrannical, overarching federal leviathan. The political class fears a backlash by the people as it claims the right to lock up American citizens without any right to counsel or jury trial. Further, the political class has so transmogrified the idea of any right to privacy as to be wholly unrecognizable.
I fear that only possible outcome of the clash between this burgeoning police state and the fond memories of individual freedom will be bloodshed. It is apparent that the political class no longer believes that their authority is granted by our consent. They have become a class unto themselves believing they are out rulers.
I believe that several of the ships that took part in the Tripoli pirates attacks were privateers authorized by Jefferson and his Congress. Now-a-day's, Blackwater comes to mind. Unfortunately they sold out to FedGov.
With an excerpt that short, the OP may as well have posted the title only.
Thanks. I don’t have a bump list otherwise I would have bumped the article to as many as I could.
It is an outstanding article. I’m so happy I stumbled across it. I’ve bookmarked it and saved it to my hard disk, both, with a reminder to re-read it often, until the facts become second nature to me and ingrained in my brain. Thanks for posting it.
Your welcome. With the radical left wing extremist demokkkrat scumbags controling the msm (lsm!) we all gotta do what we can when we see it. I posted another link today for “friendorfoe.us” which is a great resource for who is and isn’t friendly when it comes to carrying your firearm at local establishments. Malls, doctors offices, movie theaters, eating establishments, etc. If you sign up you can add places you are aware of that are “+’ or “-” places. But you don’t have to sign up to use it.
Fantastic. Hadn't seen that before, either. Too good. It's not even noon yet, and I've already found twice as many good things on FR as usual, thanks to you. I'm going to have to keep my eye on you, young feller!
Young? I wish. LOL! I could upset a whole lot more apple carts if that were the case.
