Welcome to the Friend or Foe web site. This site serves the gun owner community by listing the experiences people have while out and about carrying a firearm for self protection.

Contribute your experience on who and what businesses don't have a problem with armed citizens. Conversely, add to the list of who and which ones don't support the 2nd amendment. Kind of like Angies List except for gun rights folks. I stumbled on to this site reading an article in National Review Online. Don't know if it's been posted before or not. I'll be bookmarking it.

It annoys me that the building where I go to see my audiologist (too much unprotected gun fire) has a sign on their lobby door that handguns are not "allowed".

Pffft.
It does not comply with Texas law about non-carry signage, so I ignore it.

Worth the click to read, IMO. First paragraph:

He started the website Friend or Foe in 2009 to keep track of where he could shop and eat without running afoul of business policies and local regulations. But then gun owners started using his website. As word got out on gun-rights blogs, people began adding more business ratings to Friend or Foe, highlighting the establishments that ban firearms and those that don’t. Before long, Walsh found he’d become an activist, and his fast-growing website was helping to fortify a civil-liberties movement. He’s okay with that. He has big plans for how to separate friends of the Second Amendment from foes.

I just joined the website and found it easy to use so I posted the three Buffalo Wild Wings in Tulsa that put up signs after OK went OC in November.

Same thing at my back surgeons office. Big sign “NO WEAPONS”. Lucky for me I only had to go there a few times after my back surgery. As far as hearing, I’ve been asked more than once if I shoot after a hearing test. I just tell them no, I played guitar in a rock and roll band. LOUD! Constantly answering the door bell that didn’t ring.

Good deal. They state you don’t have to “join” but what the heck. Also noticed that Chris stated they are doing some improvements and upgrades. If and when I encounter a situation that warrants listing I’ll be sure to do it. Hopefully more FReepers will use the site and effect some changes like Chris has done. We need to stop these radical left wing extremist demokkkrat scumbags from demonizing firearms.

I have a real issue seeing/reading signs. Most of the time I never even notice they are there! Ignorance can be bliss..

I’d think that you’d need more carry information in UNSAFE places!

“Safe”, as in the owners of said establishments wouldn’t hassle you for carrying. I know where some “unsafe” places are and try not to go to them. Think chi-town.
