Public employees told to bring own TP

WINDSOR, Mo.- A Missouri mayor said he was shocked when a speaker at an aldermanic meeting revealed public works employees had been told to bring toilet paper from home.

Windsor Mayor Justin Brown said he was shocked when Nancy Dunbar spoke at last week's meeting and suggested a fundraiser to stop the policy of requiring the city's 10 public works employees, who are all male, to bring their own toilet paper to work, KCTV, Kansas City, Mo., reported.

"I was just really incredulous that this was a topic to be brought up at a City Hall meeting, much less have any truth to it," Brown said. "The No. 1 emotion is embarrassment. We have a lot of good things going on in our little town, and this is the topic."

Dunbar said Brown wasn't the only one shocked by the revelation.

"The mayor was like, 'What are you talking about?' Because the mayor had no idea. The aldermen had no idea. I mean mouths just dropped," Dunbar said.

Dunbar said the policy came from an edict handed down by city administrator Sandra Underwood. However, Underwood said the order came from the head of Public Works and she was not involved.

Brown said toilet paper is now being provided for the men.

"We are always looking for ways to save money," Brown said. "I'm just fearful that this finally hit a fever pitch and this is where it got ridiculous."

The question should be do they need 10 such employees?

Why is it when confronted by a budget shortfall, governemts will cut police, fire fighters and teachers but no city hall bureaucrats get the ax?

A prime example of government-in-action, a.k.a., pass-the-buckism.

Harry the-buck-stops-here Truman would be so proud of Windsor, Missouri.

Either I’m having a deja vu experience, or I’ve seen this story before. Is this something the Dems trot out every time their beloved all-powerful government is threatened with being shut down?

Wow, looks like Dillinger or the Barrow Gang could roll into town any minute. I believe ‘quaint’ is the right word.

Doesn't Windsor, MO, have woods or leaves or Mother Nature? I do believe that she was providing all the natural TP long before Man decided he enjoyed something softer on the hind end (or perhaps when Man decided to leave sh*ting in the woods to bears).

And wasn't there some windbag celebrity that said we humans should use only 1-3 squares of TP to take care of our business? I think that person subscribes to the Arab nomad stink-hand philosophy. Sounds vaguely familiar. And it sounds like Windsor, MO, is about to go full nomad.

I can see the point real well, public employees ( are full of it )and is it too much to ask them to contribute something for the Government benefits they are receiving.

These public employees are just being required to return the cases they took home during the “good” times. See its part of their benefits, TP. Copy paper, ink, pens, paper, pretty much anything not nailed down is fair game to a government “worker”. Cause they are owed.
