The Internet says the ruins of the First Temple are in the South Pacific. Matthew Fishbane went to find them.
A little over a year ago, Tablet Magazines Matthew Fishbane was emailed a grainy video of Papua New Guineas Gogodala peoplein grass skirts, their bodies decorated with body paint and featherssinging the Shema, the holiest of Hebrew prayers. A few Google searches later, hed uncovered claims that the Lost Temple of Israel is hidden someplace in the South Pacific. And so he went to investigate
Maybe my history’s a litte shoddy but both temples were destroyed by conquerers, the Babylonians and the Romans, they weren’t lost.
And how remains of a temple on top of a mountain in Israel would get to a south pacific island is beyond me.
Sort of interesting, it might make a good story for a comic book but totally unbelievable.
I was thinking the same thing. Even if you think earlier books of the OT that survived ages of oral tradition are literally fallible, the temple eras are undisputed history.
Yeah, sure! Just picked it up and moved it there on a catamaran.
Also, I think the author, Matthew Fishbane, sounds like a mean fish-killer. Peta needs to pursue this.
There was a plot from the old TV show Tales From the Gold Monkey that described this exact idea. Nice try, I don’t think I’ll be buying the book!
Sure, everyone’s heard of Jew canoes.
Other than every single fact we know, is there a shred of evidence this isn’t true?
Oy the Poi!
The Mormons are gonna be all over this like green jell-o.
I loved that series.
Well, no wonder!! If I'd misplaced something from the Middle East in the South Pacific, I'd consider it "lost", too!
Kinda' big to lose it way out there, though.....
Aliens...Say it....A lee ens. They also take my socks from the laundry. Aliens.

Thanks nickcarraway. I think he's been looking in the Tinfoil Islands.
Long lost temple in the south pacific?
Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn...
That looks like Obama,..and why is he still dressed like Satan!!!!????? ;^)
So, since I assume you've bought the e-book or whatever that the site is pitching, you know whether this is a ridiculous, easily dismissed crock or if there is more to it.
Maybe you'd like to elaborate?

Maybe the Solomon Islands were connected to Israel and then a giant earthquake knocked things around. It could happen.
I found the Temple outside of Albuquerque
Yeah ... but what for?
No way those skinny little green buggers could wear human-sized socks.
Body suits, I have big feet.
So, it’s an easily dismissed crock then. Too bad you’re out $2.99 for that.
I didn’t pay anything. I just made that up.
