And now there's a doctor in Kansas, I believe, who is opting to do something very similar.
Decades ago, back in the 60s and even into the early 70s, we paid the doctor and then filed our own insurance claims. There was one price for everybody and we all paid and knew what it cost. Most of the time we paid for office visits. Exceptional testing and hospital stuff were covered by insurance. We did just fine.
These docs are just going back to the future. Good idea.
I can see the future. The future is that Obama will have the malpractice insurance providers refuse to give insurance to these Doctors.
faced with law suits and no insurance they won’ last long.
The state may revoke their licenses to practice if they don’t toe-the-line. There is nothing the docs can do about that.
All obama has to do is sign an EO and everyone says “Thank you, Sir. May I have another?” The republicans might bitch a little but that’s about it. obama can have anything he wants.
I predict US Doctors will set up clinics in nearby locations such as Mexico, the Bahamas and in the Caribbean. There is nothing the State can do.

Exactly I found some medical bills after my parents has passed and these bills were from the 60’s and early 70’s and I was amazed to see how cheap it was even for an Appendix operation and to see there was no insurance nor government involved. My parents paid their medical with cash and also they paid on a payment plans. So what happen? I wish we could go back to those day. It wasn’t until the late 70’s I notice on some bills that they had insurance. Just Doctor and Patient were the only 2 involved.
I remember as a kid, when my mom took me to the doctor it was more often than not, in his house. Usually a garage converted into a waiting room, office and exam room. The wife was the secretary, scheduler and gave the bill. The bill was paid right then and there. But then again, people didn’t go to the doctor at the slightest sign of the sniffles, like they do today because of their insurance.
