So... is this real, or not? Update: My sarcastic skepticism aside, it seems real.
It could be fake in two ways: First, they were just having us on and meant to be silly, so the joke's partly on us.
Second, they were having us on, and also, it's not from the 80s, but from like three months ago.
Their website claims, again, it was shot in 1986 (but MTV refused to air it, the dastards) and even runs some suspiciously cleanly digital pictures from their 1986 photo shoot. Because, you know. Everyone has pictures from 1986 lying around.

...to be politically incorrect...it’s so gay.
Mystery surrounds an article that doesn’t answer any of the W questions.
Its real ... real bad.
I want my 30 seconds back.
Why does the canary have teeth?!?
60 seconds of my life wasted on this...
The hair’s right, but the production is too slick for 86.
We are systematically being trained not to believe anything we see.
That was so bad.... I want to dig out my own eyes...
Crap! The 80’s sucked!
The teeth look like the coloring is natural which would indicate it was done before 1990.
It’s real but, so what?
I call fake. Some of those dance moves were not around in the 80’s and they could not have added the birds teeth back then. The process would have been so time consuming and not worth the effort. Also culturally that crotch shot of one of the dancers would not have been done. Not in a karate promo.
Hand held wireless mics in 1986? I am dubious. Back then the technology available from companies like Shure required a pack to be worn that was the transceiver. The mic itself was wired to the pack that was about the size of two decks of cards.
That was... weird..
I had a better time when I was in labor but thanks for posting, Perdogg.
One watches it with the same morbid curiosity with which the tongue probes a festering tooth.
Actually, it’s from 1886, Vintage “Three Little Maids from School” moves from the Original Production of “The Mikado”! LOL.
The editing is horrible (typical 1980s butchered editing) and the woman’s hair is very 1980s styled (and not some style created in the 2000s to make it look like 1986).
The outfits are loose and not form-fitting. One does not see uniforms like these anymore.
I’m convinced it’s real...
That’s the best video ever. People think it’s fake.
