The group decides not to risk a direct confrontation. The Governor attacks, but the group escapes. Woodbury fragments, and Tyree and his wife end up in the group, along with Milton (maybe) and Blondie. Milton will play a key role in the Governor’s downfall. I think this was foreshadowed by the last interaction between the Governor and Milton, in which Milton showed no fear.
The Governor gets away with a few faithful henchmen, but Martinez gets wise to him and either goes his own way or dies. With the Governor at large, and the prison not very secure, the group decides to find a new permanent home. This will be left hanging until next season, but will be foreshadowed in the finale, just like last year.
I think Herschel is on the chopping block, maybe dying as a delaying tactic to allow the group to escape the prison. Maggie and Glen will survive as the new “Power Couple”. Rick will cede leadership of the group, at least in spirit. Someone will have to step up, but I’m not sure if it will be Glen. I have a sneaking suspicion that they could knock off Rick in the finale, although I am not sure they would go that far.
I don’t read the graphic novel so I have no idea what happens there.
