I'm Free! And no longer being paid...so eventually I'll have to indenture myself to some other master. No worries; my real boss is a Jewish carpenter, and He'll never lay me off.
I am sorry to hear that it seems you have joined the ranks of the unemployed? Hopefully the freedom and adventure will offset whatever financial worries for some period of time that is refreshing for you.
Do you have any goals inked out for your period of freedom?

Unemployed eh? I am in the trades and like leaving the headaches to my boss. I have never been “indentured”. I could, and did, leave several jobs of my own free will. Good luck to you.
So where are you and what is your skill set? I bet some freepers may be able to point you in a direction to change your situation.

When do you get the welfare checks, the EBT card, Section 8 housing, free Obama phones, SSI checks, unemployment checks, free breakfast and lunches for the kids, free medical care from the county, and all the other entitlements reserved for the “special classes”?
Second, the state has a pretty good job-matching service. I'll be checking with them to see what they know. Also, they are “partnered” with private-sector training for such things as CDL and CNC machining.
Third, I already have a couple of leads within my church.
(Second and third items to be pursued more-or-less simultaneously.)
