Lawyer: Pittsburgh police officer’s intensity a repeat
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | March 22, 2013 | Adam Brandolph

A Pittsburgh police officer's alleged use of excessive force at a Station Square nightclub is “strikingly similar” to allegations from an incident involving the same officer three years ago, a Pittsburgh lawyer said on Thursday.

Edward Lojak Jr., 28, suffered a cracked rib, a broken nose and other injuries when Detective David Honick tackled him on Saturday outside Whim Night Club.

Honick, who joined the force in November 2003, is similarly accused in a federal civil lawsuit of breaking an Apollo man's cheekbone in three places on Feb. 27, 2010, outside Saddle Ridge in Station Square.

No action has been taken against any of the officers involved.

Margaret Coleman, an attorney representing Condarcure in his lawsuit, said the incidents are “strikingly similar to one another.”

When you let a government employee get away with something once--surprise, surprise---he'll try it again.

Or maybe the city of Pittsburgh should hire police officers that lose these street fights.

So, a cop apprehending two law breakers three years apart, causes some physical injury and you take the perps' side?

Fascinating that you automatically take the government employee’s side.

Shouldn’t officers be trained to apprehend and/or resolve situations WITHOUT breaking bones?

Now, you’re just taking all the fun out of being a government employee.

Or maybe the city of Pittsburgh should hire police officers that do not get into these street fights, but rather use training and equipment and skills to resolve the situations without becoming street fights. Half of the men in my immediate family are police officers, and not one has broken a bone on any citizen in 130+ years of combined urban and rural service. Odd coincidence that this one has had two victims in just 3 years. Hmmmmm.

Where's the fun in that? Next, you'll want to stop them from shooting dogs for no reason. Party pooper.

I'll automatically take the side of law and order every-single-time until it's proven they did wrong. Then, throw the book at 'em.
What's truly fascinating is the number of cop haters on FR.

Thank you for confirming that you don’t think it’s “wrong” to break bones of a private citizen accused of a crime, given the individuals have yet to be convicted of a crime.

Thank you for verifying that you see no problem with government employees engaged in such behavior against American citizens.

What you justify today will be done against Freepers tomorrow.

But you clearly have no objection to them breaking bones *in practice*, though you claim to object to it *in theory*.

Else you would condemn this government employee for doing so.

Conservatives support peace officers like:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2999884/posts

Not thugs like:

And to shamelessly steal from another Freeper:

"Contrary to what you posted, there isn’t a single Freeper who is anti-cop. There are a LARGE number of Freepers who are anti-jack-booted-thug though.

Many of us have had...shall we say “unpleasant” dealings with the constabulary, and are somewhat reticent about giving THEM the benefit of the doubt when THEY by their own words consider everyone NOT wearing THEIR uniform a SUSPECT, as opposed to their legitimate role as PEACE OFFICER.

The police have elevated themselves (with the co-operation of the MSM: name ONE top rated TV show where the “heroes” are NOT public servants) to a “higher” role in society, even though they are no more than fellow citizens entrusted with upholding the law.

When is the last time you saw several hundred uniformed officers at the funeral of ANY war veteran? On or off-duty?

Yet many cities and towns will reduce the policing on the street for the funeral of a police officer, and to add insult to injury, the professional mourners GET PAID?!?!

As Sarah Conner said, “There’s a storm coming...”"

I love how well you rebutted the points made in Altariel’s post. The deep profundities, hard logic, and flawless reasoning of your position are condensed down to five words and a sanitized obscenity.

Have no worries, you too will have a “less than pleasant” encounter with the police if you dare drive in “their” turf. Unless of course you are “one of them”. Then you get a free pass, as a member of the self-appointed elite.

We need more of you.

After all,

We need more roadside cavity searches.

We need more dogs killed.

We need more mentally ill beat to death.

We need more deaf people shot to death.

We need more Marines killed in front of their sons at home.

etc./s

...and that is what an apparent government employee offers as a reasoned, rational reply.

Big words from someone who in their own defense copied & posted someone else's words, then had to call in other FR cop haters to help fight his battle.
Sniveling cowards, all of you.

If you wanted to be worshipped, you should have been a doctor or a firefighter, not a cop.

Be a man.

Your continued failure to produce a reasoned, rational reply is noted.

I gave both my own response and quoted another Freeper; you have failed to rebut any of my post.

Perhaps when you are done kowtowing at the altar of The State, you will be able to articulate what you find wrong with my stated position.
