Discovery Channel has given a fourth season to its reality show Sons of Guns.
The show -- which centers on Red Jacket Firearms, a custom gun-making company in Louisiana -- is set to return at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Friday, April 19.
Will Hayden, his daughter Stephanie, Joe, Kris, Charlie, Flem and the rest of Red Jacket staff are returning for season four, which will see the crew handling major firepower, including a rare handheld WWII PIAT, a Russian cannon and a M36 tank.
Meanwhile, Vince, a former employee, resurfaces, and his reappearance as a possible competitor could spell trouble for Red Jacket. The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive look at the premiere.
Sons of Guns and other shows including History's Top Shot and National Geographic's Doomsday Preppers came under scrutiny in the wake of the elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn., in December.
A similarly themed series on Discovery, American Guns, was canceled months earlier, mostly because of its ratings performance.

I think Magpul should set up shop right next door to them.
Yep, I always take time to watch that show or “look back” on cable.
Of course, if you miss a weeks episode, they always replay it, usually right before the next weeks episode.
There are several big warehouse spaces on Mammoth but I don't think any are big enough for Magpul. I think one next door was an auto body or tire shop.
Good, I love that show.
Frankly, I’m surprised that any show about guns would be anywhere on TV considering the current idiotic, anti- American behavior of some in this country.
It would be great marketing for both, kind of like the Eddie Bauer-Ford Explorers...
Its the subject matter that bugs me most. They are horrible at what they do.
James Yeager has had a nice series of videos from Red Jacket on Youtube. He talked with Will, Zach, Kris and Glenn etc.

I have come to the conclusion that is really not the sentiment in this country.
Oh yeah, if you listen to MSM’s 24/7 negative coverage of guns and gun culture, sure, anyone would get that idea. The media WILL NOT report on positive gun attitudes.
They simply WILL NOT do it.
So anyone that listens to media of course gets only negative stories.
But the market decides, and people want to see this stuff, despite whether a few hipsters and liberals like it or not. People spend money and markets flow to the money. Advertisers pay to advertise on shows that people watch.
I don’t see how someone that is horrible at what they do can have a succesful business. So successful that they make a TV show about it. How is that possible?
I can understand if someone sucks at what they do, they barely stay in business... go out of business... end up bankrupt. They not only stay in business but THRIVE. Doesn’t make sense.
Yeah, I had to agree, but watching what has happened in Colorado is really sad.
I am very happy that I did not move there when my brother was pressuring me to do so.
It does seem that a number of people in this country do realize that if you cannot effectively defend your rights, then you do not have any rights.
I’ll tell you what, if they do move down there, I’ll be visiting Cajun country a lot more often. Baton Rouge could rename Mammoth Ave ‘It’s A Cannon Road’.
Both Will Hayden (Red Jacket) and Richard Fitzpatrick (Magpul) are both USMC vets. Would be nice to see them team up.
I once knew a girl if you smelled of Hoppe’s you weren’t safe.
I love that smell.
That and Bondo. I love the smell of Bondo.
My wife is more turned on by the smell of gasoline, grease, or smell of the woods on a man than any cologne.
Now, if I’m right out of the bath... or getting ready to go out for dinner, sure, she expects me to smell good.
But after a day’s work, a man should smell like a man. (not rank body odor but you get my point)
Wait, how did this conversation end up here?
Stop by any weekend.
I use Hoppe’s for after-shave.
Yes, I loved Top Shot! Sons of Guns is my close second.
Safe from what.....?
