The Best from ‘Mad Dog Mattis’
Washington Free Beacon ^ | 18 March 2013 | Staff

Posted on 03/30/2013 9:33:06 AM PDT by Windflier

Gen. James Mattis, known to his troops as “Mad Dog Mattis,” is retiring after 41 years of military service.

The Marine Corps Times is calling Mattis the “most revered Marine in a generation.”

Mattis has been commander of the United States Central Command since 2010 and led the 1st Marine Division into Iraq in 2003.

According to reports, President Barack Obama decided to force the Marine Corps legend out early because he rubbed civilian officials the wrong way, and forced them to answer tough questions regarding Iran.

Mattis was an inspirational leader of men and his powerful words will go down in history.

Here are some of the best words that the “Mad Dog” has had to offer:

1. “I don’t lose any sleep at night over the potential for failure. I cannot even spell the word.”

2. “The first time you blow someone away is not an insignificant event. That said, there are some assholes in the world that just need to be shot.”

3. “I come in peace. I didn’t bring artillery. But I’m pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you fuck with me, I’ll kill you all.”

4. “Find the enemy that wants to end this experiment (in American democracy) and kill every one of them until they’re so sick of the killing that they leave us and our freedoms intact.”

5. “Marines don’t know how to spell the word defeat.”

6. “Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”

7. “The most important six inches on the battlefield is between your ears.”

8. “You are part of the world’s most feared and trusted force. Engage your brain before you engage your weapon.”

9. “There are hunters and there are victims. By your discipline, cunning, obedience and alertness, you will decide if you are a hunter or a victim.”

10. “No war is over until the enemy says it’s over. We may think it over, we may declare it over, but in fact, the enemy gets a vote.”

I would submit that they’re not just “yes men,” they’re butt kissers with no spine, no guts, no gonads like the hacks in this Regime and in Congress. We can agree that they’re all a national disgrace. The Regime and Congress aren’t worthy of kissing this patriot General’s boots after he walks in the sewers of the world.

I’m sure you can hear rumbling thunder in Arlington as our patriots roll in their graves at the actions of the occupant of our WH and this Congress. God help us all!

And less stanley mac cristals too. Pretty sure that General Mattis knows the difference between an M-16 and an AR-15. Apparently mac cristal, who said we don’t need those weapons of war on America’s streets, doesn’t. Gen mac seems to have become, like a lot of general officers, a radical left wing extremist demokkkrat scumbag who doesn’t care about the oath he took. He and mark kelley-giffords have something in common. A desire to disarm law abiding citizens of the means to hunt, defend their homes and the country should the need arise. Better to have it and never need it than to need it and not be allowed have it.

I would like to agree with you, but I cannot. Despite the greatest fantasies that Hollywood can provide as cover, brutal shock awaits a military power that equates women to fighting men, and homosexuals to heterosexuals. Today's American warriors are being gelding by pervasive political correctness, and the uncooperative stallions like Jim Mattis and Carter Ham are being chased out of the services. It will take a few more years, but the decline is underway, and will steepen.

The planned destruction of America is based upon the systematic hollowing of its foundational institutions - and that is now happening right before our eyes. Even centuries-old definitions are up for grabs. As Rush Limbaugh recently remarked, America is now governed by mob rule. This is how the Brownshirts turned a chancellor into a dictator.

I believe the order is over five years and that it is a ceiling level we’re talking about. As in “up to X amount of bullets”.

You and I just disagree on what will happen. There is no point to start violence when you already have complete control.

That is how you win in war.

For the most part, I liked General Mattis, but in the end, all of our military leadership failed us in this poorly run “Global War on Terror”. We did not fight the war to win it.
When we went from a**-kickers to peace makers, we lost our way. Never again. If we have to go to war in the future, I will be opposed to it unless they assure the public that we will fight the war for total victory, minimizing our losses by using our entire arsenal without mercy until all resistance stops. Otherwise, we should just stay home.

I believe it’s a stretch to go from the government hording ammo to martial law or extermination of citizens. We’ll find out in the near future if there is malicious intent. If you’re right, we’ll have much bigger problems then us disagreeing on an internet forum.

It was both. We know that our political leadership is spineless, but I expected more from officers. Our military leadership did not resign when forced to fight the war this way. They also failed us in DADT, women in combat, prosecutions of soldiers in Haditha and other incidents. I have nothing but praise for our enlisted forces, company and field grade officers. But almost all of our Generals were just like our politicians, spineless.

I agree that what has been going on is alarming, specifically the MRAPs if true. We are living in a very low level police state, but things have clearly become worse in the decade or two.(DHS and TSA)

That said, the video has a lot of falsehoods and anorexic conclusions.
1. Comparing someone who believes what I do to Holocaust deniers.
2. That Obama has allowed drones to kill Americans on American soil.
3. The FBI has staged every terrorist attack.
4. Poison in the crops
5. Mercury in the vaccines to poison us.

It could be as simple as them justifying their budgets, or it could be as bad as you say. Like I said, we’ll find out. I hope you are wrong, and not for the sake of me winning an internet disagreement.

I’m prepared as I need to/can be. I don’t see the sense in worrying, though I will be paying close attention.

Why do you think all those federal agencies have cornered the market on ammunition?

I wondered if the government purchase of all that ammo is causing the shortage/price inflation we're seeing, so I googled some numbers and applied my calculator. About 6 Billion rounds are made in the US alone (the world number is 14 Billion) annually. The government is purchasing about 1.2 Billion over five years, or 240 Million per year. That means the government is buying about 4% of the supply. (Less actually because we import a lot.)

That's hardly "cornering the market." But it's still worrisome in the context of their making themselves enemies of the rest of us.

Where is all the ammo going? To the millions of people who know that if Obama and the rest of the Rats get their way we won't have any at all. What we are seeing right now is the granddaddy of all market distortions, courtesy of the US Government. Once the saturation level is reached (and it will be reached), the supply and prices will settle down.
