Word For The Day, Monday, 4/1/13
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
1. foolish or inane, especially in an unconscious, complacent manner; silly. 2. unreal; illusory
Etymology: [C17: from Latin fatuus ; related to fatiscere to gape]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!
Here is my example with WFTD.

No pushing at the door please!
Beware of April FOOLS.
And no comments about the first lady on this thread, folks!
A+++ and don’t believe Breitbart.com’s account that the fool in question was BOOed at the Elite 8 game in DC on Saturday. xsboy and his friend were there and while they were booing, the predominant sound was cheers. xsboy was pretty astounded by that.
I’ll take door number two, Alex, “imaginary, illusion”. I went to the Dr. and he said I was fat. No says I, I’m fatuous, an illusion, just like the illusion I will pay your bill.
after having sauerkraut, i can be rather fatuous myself
Well, look who the cat dragged in!
with kielbasa?? A+++
kielbasa & pierogies...
anybody do any good AF jokes yet?
now what didja do with the wet bar?
i made kielbasa, pierogies and borscht for dinner on Saturday. Only on Holy Saturday.
“Mz. O, you’re not any kind of fashion model, cuz fatuous.”
a good pal made me a bunch of glopkes... finished them off over the weekend...now i gotta weasel another dozen out of her;-)
but down the rabbit hole where we are all living, MZ O is indeed portrayed as a fashion model! A+++
Ok I usually google mentions of foods on this thread...but I’m coming up empty on glopkes..... what are they?
yeah, i have never been a fan of the stuffed cabbage. my best friend makes good halushki though, the cabbage and noodles.
also known as HALUPKI, GALUMPKI, you know with the cyrillic alphabet, there are diff spellings. and people pronounce the stuff lots of diff ways. am thinking that’s camle’s bastardized version of stuffed cabbage.
