Princess Diaries? Heather Matarazzo? She said they were friends. People decided to read more into that without any real evidence. Hathaway's brother is homosexual, so she doesn't feel uncomfortable with gays or lesbians.
Why do people hate her? She's become the successful "good girl" without being especially or appealingly good, the successful "top girl" or "head girl" without being particularly charismatic, a successful cover girl without being a great beauty.
She doesn't have the common touch that wins people over or the great personal magnetism that also appeals to people. She's doesn't come across as especially kind, or good-natured, or friendly. Not even wittily and cleverly mean. To the many haters, it apparently seems like she isn't that interested in other people in any way. Probably not a great actress either.
Maybe it's just jealousy, but there's a feeling that she got further than she earned or deserved. That can be something visceral that you feel in your gut rather than reason out. And yes, Hathaway-hatred or Anne-ophobia is one of those distractions that take people's minds off what's actually going on in the world.

I keep wondering why she’s supposed to be a celebrity. SNL sucked during her tenure, nobody watched Thirty Rock, maybe one of her movies was a modest hit, I don’t know. But you certainly don’t hear about them anymore. Except Mean Girls, which I occasionally will hear referenced or quoted. But who remembers she had anything to do with it?
i know that, and you know that... but the silly people who love to loathe her do not know that... it will take a major role... not a supporting role... i think her performance in Les Miserables was raw and gritty... and i believe she earned her Oscar...

I have no idea who this woman is or why anyone would hate her. I have read nothing in this article to account for people hating her. Did she kill a couple of 13 month old babies? Probably not, but some thugs did kill one and I see no articles about how much they are hated. Our country is completely screwed, with nut cases abounding in our society, the nut cases being people who can hate a film actress simply because she exists and for no other reason. Sorry I clicked on this article, it is disgusting.

I think she’s absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous . . . even though she’s more than likely a libtard Hollyweirdo. She has the most incredible eyes and skin.
