that is true. doesn’t make the failure to follow a rubric of the Church a cause of concern, for all of the reasons i mentioned. and like i said— Benedict spoke of a smaller and more faithful church. so the Catholic church at it’s happy slappiest is POPULAR, well liked by those who have no intention of joining or following the strictures with which they disagree.
There is a better argument against altar girls than against female participation in this once a year event. I know you don’t like them, but they are here. It’s about picking battles and being able to show the difference between dogmatic areas and others.
Yes, Francis should change the rubrics rather than flout them. But you know that that isn’t something he can do in a week. (Well, he could, but the pope doesn’t usually exercise his authority like that.)
