It is one of the most shocking images from the Syrian war. An eight-year-old boy draws deeply on a cigarette, the small fingers of his other hand clutching a an AK-47 rifle that balances awkwardly against his chest.

So, which is more concerning? Smokin' cigs or smokin' guns? The sad reality of life in Syria. Where's john f'n kerry now. Don't they have warning labels on cigs in Syria? Somehow I don't think the cigs are this kids #1 worry.

This brought back a memory.

30 years ago, I was in Metullah, Israel, with a group of Christian pastors.

We were meeting and greeting a brave young Christian Man who operated a Bible radio station in Southern Lebanon.

The pastors had a real tough time with the fact that this gentleman (like MOST Mid-East people) SMOKED like a chimney!

A few months later, some muzzies in a car bomb took out the radio station, killing its two operators, one of whom was the “Smoking Man”.

Now tell me, who was doing the Will of His Father?
