On reflection as to ‘why’ BR is popular, it’s likely because Alternate History is a very popular genre here, and BR - regardless of dystopian overtones - certainly falls within the genre of Alternate History.

aWell, in an obscene way... I think the point that was trying to be made.. was that there is no longer any discipline, responsibility, nor respect (for others) ever taught in the world any-more.. And to take that further, at the same time, that too much government power can really get out of control ... (many ways to view the film).. I wish they would make an exact representation of the same film for Americans.. It may slap some sense into them, though I doubt it :p Sadly, what is happening now, from what I have seen from overseas, is pretty much leading to this, indirectly.. The society is eating itself :/
