I don’t know what the “best” is but my wife has a Samsung Tablet (ATT) and it is wonderful. HDMI to the TV for Netflix, great camera, Skype is also excellent.

Haven’t used anything else so take that with a grain of salt.

I have a Xyboard and love it. The only complaint is the battery life when watching movies. The 4G though is really fast and I use it as a Wifi hotspot for my laptop often because it is faster than DSL.

I have a Google Nexus 10. It is very responsive, has an incredible display, so I like it a lot. However, I’ve never used any other tablet, so my frame of reference is limited.

I have a Google Nexus 7 and love it. It’s not as big as an iPad and doesn’t have the rear-facing camera, but I think it’s a great size for ebook reading and general-purpose use, and it’s very inexpensive compared to the Apple tablets.

Camera could use a flash.

Polaris office is good for xcel/word etc documents, and I got a epson wireless printer it works well with. (Printshare app, and epson app)

I have Samsung Tab 2 10.1 for the last 7 months (my first tablet) and haven’t had a bit of trouble. Will be getting my wife the Samsung 7.1 in the near future.

We have a first and second generation of the Kindle Fire. We decided on this because of their $80 a year Prime program. Along with the free tv and movie streaming their free second day shipping has paid for the package easily having grandchildren living around the country.

Samsung Galaxy 10.1 that has been excellent. The camera has been a sublimely pleasurable surprise. It takes first class photos, allows all kids of creativity, and does amazing things like stop drops of water in a splash in mid air.
The slightest tilt changes the lighting and allows you to take an entirely different photo.
Allowing you to add any micro SD card you want is awesome too.

I’m so happy with this Samsung, that i am probably going to get a Galaxy S3 phone.

Whatever you get make sure it has A LOT of memory.

I have iPad3 with only 16G memory, which really kind of rots.

Galaxy Note 10.1 is my recommendation. My bias too, but have used apple products and android and I definitely prefer the Android based products.

The Note 10.1 has a Wacom digitizer built into it for writing and drawing on screen, quad core processor, 2gb ram, beautiful display, lots of memory capacity, and has become a preference over my pc at times. I primarily use it on wifi, so if you need a 3g/4g LTE option you may have to look at other options or see if they have a compatible version with a cell radio built into it.

I have tried the whole galaxy tablet line-up and even if you don’t use the digitizing feature this model is still plenty fast and capable for normal use. The 7” screen is pitiful in how it shows colors and it’s slow. The 10.1 improves but is lacking in speed and fluidness of operation.

Drawbacks... the note 10.1 front camera could be better, like the ones they but in phones, but have the phone too so not an issue for me. There is a plastic feel too it that makes it feel like it is not as solidly built as say an ipad (some flex), but i baby the thing anyway so it really hasn’t been an issue.

Ipad is a good choice too, but more expensive and they really like to dictate how you use it. I think Android gives better user access and freedom.

Oops, just remembered the Note 10.1, like the Galaxy S3 phone, can use the charging port to read thumb drives, hard, drives, and memory cards with a Sumsung adapter. Really helps with back ups and memory storage management.

ever a contrarian and in prep for a greek isles cruise, I bought a Toshiba Thrive, the latest one is the Excite, both 10 inchers and available with something many other tablets don’t have, port connections. reasonably priced compared to an iPad , there are others out there, i wouldn’t mind a new one .. good luck
