MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said Friday that the National Rifle Association wants “guns on demand, like you’re buying a Hershey bar.”

“That’s the way they want to do it, guns on demand, like you’re buying a Hershey bar. That’s it. It’s a Hershey bar. I think I’d like one. I’m going to try that. You know, no background check? What are you, crazy? …”

Yes. And?

That was the way it was for the first couple hundred years of us being a Country. Worked just fine...

In fact, up until just 80 years ago, you could buy a full auto Tommy Gun from your local hardware store.

That's right, Tingles.

Actually, I feel he understated our desires. We wish to have GOVERNMENT ISSUED FREE full-automatics, semis, and pistols given to us, with ammunition, and MRAP vehicles and M1A2 Abrams tanks.

And antitank and antiair missiles.

Um ... welll ... Pissy Chrissy is right about that.

Perhaps he's starting to understand "shall not be infringed"?

Yeah, so, Chrissy? What's your point (if you really have one)? The framers of the Constitution believed we have the right to self-defense and wisely wrote the actual words into the Bill of Rights so there would be no mistake. Smart fellers' they were. It's almost like they knew brainless fools like Chrissy would come along one day decrying the right to self-defense.

I wonder what Chrissy thinks of the real intent of the 2A? Does he even know it's for protection against a tyrannical government?

Of course, in NYC Bloomberg will probably ban Hershey bars too.

When guns were available over the counter and through the mail, Crime rates were about what they are now.

It was only after the current restrictions were put in place that the crime rate went through the roof.

Then, after Concealed Carry reform became the law in most states, the crime rates came down to what they are now.

Return guns to the Constitutional status they should have, and crime rates might drop even further.

All the guns in private hands could never do us as much harm as leftest loons like him in the media, education and politics. His mouth should be locked away in a safe place.

This is true. And that’s aside from the fact that the first chocolate bar appeared in 1847, sixty years after the Constitution was ratified.

That brings up and interesting question. I wonder if while watching Willy Wonka, liberals see themselves as the “naughty children” who get their comeuppance, or do they see themselves as Charlie?

If you can murder a baby on demand because the Constitution allows it - IT DOESN’T
Then you can buy a gun on demand because the Constitution allows it. IT DOES.....

The liberals want to put restrictions on snack food as if you were buying a gun.

Before the Gun Control Act of 1968, you COULD buy guns like a Hershey bar. You could walk in, pay with cash, walk out, no paperwork, no ID. I remember the early sixties being much safer for people like me to walk around in.

If you're a law-abiding, responsible citizen, why shouldn't it be that easy, Chrissy?

As the bumper sticker says, "Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency".

Abortion appears no where in the Constitution. Yet we’re told it’s a right that has to be protected.

If our government protected guns the way they protect abortion you would see:

1) Courts striking down all gun legislation.
2) Media would refuse to air any real arguments against guns. Moreover, Hollywood media heroes would fight against out of control gun regulators.
3) Government would fight any attempts at registering, regulating or tracking fire arms.
4) Laws banning the transport of guns over state borders would be thrown out.
5) People under the age of 18 could buy guns without their parents consent or knowledge.
6) The government would be supplying us all with guns and ammo, regardless of how poor you are.
7) Our schools would teach about guns and gun safety.
8) The government would crack down on protesters outside of gun stores.
9) All gun store records and receipts would be protected from outsiders on the grounds of “privacy”.

Note that most guns never kill or injure anyone.

Most abortions result in someone dying.

People injured or killed by guns include a large age range from 1 year old to 100 years old. Some of these people are injured because they are doing bad things.

People injured or killed by abortion include those who are 9 months and younger. The only crime they are committing is not being out of the womb.

***MORE CHILDREN DIE TO ABORTION EVERY YEAR THAN GUNS***

But no one talks about regulating abortion.

When those snarling, holier than thou, know-it-all libs begin lecturing you about guns - you now know what to tell them.

"There is a slight difference. I don’t have a constitutional right to a Hershey Bar."

Dead on...my favorite comment so far.
