Oceans may explain slowdown in climate change: study

OSLO (Reuters) - Climate change could get worse quickly if huge amounts of extra heat absorbed by the oceans are released back into the air, scientists said after unveiling new research showing that oceans have helped mitigate the effects of warming since 2000.

Heat-trapping gases are being emitted into the atmosphere faster than ever, and the 10 hottest years since records began have all taken place since 1998. But the rate at which the earth's surface is heating up has slowed somewhat since 2000, causing scientists to search for an explanation for the pause.

Experts in France and Spain said on Sunday that the oceans took up more warmth from the air around 2000. That would help explain the slowdown in surface warming but would also suggest that the pause may be only temporary and brief.

"Most of this excess energy was absorbed in the top 700 meters (2,300 ft) of the ocean at the onset of the warming pause, 65 percent of it in the tropical Pacific and Atlantic oceans," they wrote in the journal Nature Climate Change.

Lead author Virginie Guemas of the Catalan Institute of Climate Sciences in Barcelona said the hidden heat may return to the atmosphere in the next decade, stoking warming again.

"If it is only related to natural variability then the rate of warming will increase soon," she told Reuters.

Yep, they have an answer for everything that doesn’t fit their models.

The Earth takes care of itself and man is not capable of changing it’s climate.

THAT explains ALL fluctuations in climate.

They’re stalling, hoping for the temperature to go up. If it does, the game is back on.

They think that if they lie faster, they will be more convincing. This article is just shovelful after shovelful of outright BS.

As I often say: real scientists, from whatever discipline, are embarrassing themselves by remaining silent. There ought to be millions of scientists jumping up and saying, "It's rubbish. This is made up. It's lies. There is no science here."

More lies on top of the old lies. Infrared heat, the kind that CO2 radiates, is aborbed within the top couple of feet of the Ocean. That heat is given off quickly due to evaporation at the surface. It is the deeper penetrating light from the sun (UV-A, Violet, Blue and Green) that gets heat energy deep into the top surface. None of that light is due to CO2 green house effects. It all comes from the sun.

They don’t want to admit the obvious. It is the communists and islamists who run oil fields and coal mines with technology from the early 50’s that is causing pollution and that doesn’t fit their anti American agenda.

We can pull more coal and oil from the earth on 1/100 of the footprint and it will be cleaner. We mus pound it into the left that they are supporting the destruction of the earth.

Historically they tend to start world wars so everyone forgets about their past mistakes.

So, now that it has been pretty much acknowledged that there has been NO global warming in the last 15 years, the so-called climate “scientists” are now having to make up more nonsense after the fact since their “the-science-is-settled” so-called “models” have completely failed.

There was a time, when the concept was fairly new, that I was very concerned about anthropomorphic climate change. Back then I was also somewhat of a democrat, and strongly felt that the climate issue was one that could be used by the Democrats - especially if there was a heat wave before an election cycle. Didn’t take long for that to happen. I have since looked at the data and reassessed.

I believe in conservation (i.e. avoiding avoidable waste), and I believe in preserving natural beauty where we can, and in being good stewards of the land we use. This is, in my view, very much consistent with conservative values. Ironically, it has always been the leftist countries who have treated their land and natural resources the worst.

This isn’t the half of it. We now know that Thermians from planet Klendathhu have been hiding in Earth’s volcanoes for centuries, storing-up the excess heat from global warming. When they release this heat all at once the average surface temperature on Earth will jump to 220 degrees F, killing everyone except California billionaires who have built isolytic flux capacitor storage banks in their underground survival shelters.

Of course the sun’s varying output has nothing to do with our climate.
