Looks to me as if this guy is posing for the camera to make absolutely sure the persons can see he is obviously a white guy.

It could just be a guy holding a backpack.
He is using his left hand to support his right arm, as if the pack is very heavy. The backpack looks a little small to hold a standard size pressure cooker though.
I don’t think he’s looking at the camera. It looks like he’s looking down the road.
If there were an incendiary device in there, wouldn’t the backpack have been blown to smithereens? Isn’t the fact that it seems to have large pieces intact proof that there wasn’t a bomb in there?

I had to do a doubletake; in the one photo, it looks like he’s looking straight at the camera - but perhaps not.
Still, if anyone knows who this person is, yes, call the authorities. Who knows? It might be some schlub, but then again, it might be the bomber.
I agree...too much of the duffel bag is left intact. The “loner” in the photo appears to be holding a back pack...with the same handle material.
That’s probably who the FBI HOPES “concerned citizens” will turn in.
This looks wayyyyy too easy.
All blasts are incindiary, it is the escaping gasses that propel outward. My guess is the explosive was set in the bottom with the bottom of the pressure cooker forming a similar shape to that of a claymore. With the pack on the ground, the force would have shot upward, blowing the nails etc up and pretty much parallel to the street, hence the number of limbs hit and small children killed.
Gun powder used so it is not sophisticated. Probably an alarm watch for a timer, battery for igniter and perhaps a firework for a detonator. Something one can make in their garage.
Two devices though means one of two things...either one guy who cas able to retrieve both bombs from nearby or two people acting in tandem.
If it is the guy in the picture, and we do not know that for sure, it is definitely a white guy.
